Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department

People acting like Taylor is single handedly tearing open the ozone like a bag of chips when aviation is 2% of carbon emissions is hilarious. Yes it’s bad but let’s not pretend her jet isn’t also accessible to other celebrities and media will click bait with a picture of Taylor for clicks and entirely put it on her. Let’s use our thinking caps!
Why does she need to lend put her private jet to people like Lena Dunham, Jack Antonoff or whatever one of the boygenius bisexuals controls their collective mind for that day?

Both issues can mutually exist at once, I don’t understand how this can’t be agreed on.

She can be flying airline too much whilst also having stalkers who are trying to harm her.
Capitalism shrouded in toothless social justice rhetoric is so 2011 at this point. Owning a private jet (aka how your name gets on the flight jogs) is not an inalienable right nor a human rights issue. My god.

While this may seem like a relatively small amount, consider that if global commercial aviation had been a country in the 2019 national GHG emissions standings, the industry would rank number six in the world between Japan and Germany. Commercial aircraft emissions are projected to triple by 2050.

It's not an issue exclusive to Taylor, but it's a glaring climate justice issue that disproportionally impacts disadvantaged communities. We need to do better.

Midnights wasn't exactly an 'all killer, no filler' affair nor do I expect an established artist to deliver that. There is only so much creativity and momentum in the studio one has. However the highs were truly amazing: Anti-Hero is a signature song for your average artist and for her it is one of many in her discography. It manages to do so without feeling like she is recycling her own sound or using a trick she did before. It sounded and now sounds fresh. So I have a complete sense of confidence this album will bring gems. We know she can pull a cohesive strong effort and if that happens it is a sweet bonus and fantastic accomplishment 11 albums in her career.

Her threatening legal action against a college student is just not a good look, no matter which way you spin it. Taylor has more than enough money to spend on a security militia for the rest of her life and well into her next life, too. Why does she need to have a second private jet she rents out to make more money, anyway? Note that this is entirely separate to her using her own private jet daily. I’ll always be interested in her music, but some of her behavior behind the scenes appears to be questionable at best.

Remember that time some journalists speculated that she was a Conservative (I still do) turning a blind eye on neonazis who were using her as a mascot and, instead of simply saying she was, you know, decent and maybe even a democrat, she took them to court?

Capitalism queen <3
