Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department

Haven’t had chance to post in here yet, so I’m probably reiterating what’s been said. But a new album is not what I was expecting at all. I thought we’d get the two TV’s this year alongside eras, a relative quiet 9 months or so then a Midnights schedule release in 2025 for TS11. Perched to see what she’s been cooking up. The album title seems very Lana Del Rey.

Clara Bow was a working class girl who suffered profoundly due to class anxiety and the exclusions that came with that, and her retirement was a result of hereditary mental health problems. She lived with a husband who supported her for many, many years and should not be used for lazy pot shots at a man who keeps himself to himself.

Get her name out of your mouth blondie! She’s not for you!

Not you resetting your password just for this

I see her IG comments have been disabled (or has it always been disabled?) and then there was this viral clip of this non Swiftie dragging her about the Celine incident and etc.

I really hope this record is vastly different from midnights. I mean, I wouldn’t be mad with another folklore/evermore type record from her tbh! Or at my most delusional, something in the same sonic land as Maroon, False God and It’s Nice to Have a Friend.

Midnights felt to me both an album that she needed to release in support of the tour and also an album that let the public know that she can still do big pop songs with meaty production after the stripped back affairs of folklore and evermore.

he/him
Midnights felt like a crystallization of the previous decade of "Pop Taylor" (and I think my perception of it as that also has a lot to do with the re-recordings coming out around the same time). I enjoy it more than apparently most here, but I don't want or need more of it at this point. She's in a beyond-prime position to move forward and take at least somewhat of a risk in terms of sound, and I hope she does. I guess we'll see.

tl;dr do something else, do my eyebrows
