Yeah I'm not surprised by this. She's reached the top of the music game and will go down as one of the most successful artists ever, no doubt she feels like she needs a new challenge. Other artists have gone into acting or beauty lines, Taylor obviously wants to try directing I guess.

Honestly she’s a terrible actress so I’m glad she hasn’t gone down that line and celebrity make up is just oversaturated.
I think writing and directing will really suit her I’m sure her first project will be a commercial success.

I was watching the All Too Well shortfilm yesterday with more critical lens and to be honest, she's pretty great from a technical point of view. It's very standard but the whole thing is very well done from shooting, framework, actors... The "fight scene in the kitchen" wasn't very good because it looks very exaggerated but, at same time, I can imagine that being more of a conscious decision.
With that in mind, I'd say the only thing that she'd have to work is fine tuning some of her instincts. Anti-Hero and Bejeweled are great videos and the execution on both is great, just a little over the top. Lavender Haze feels a little more stripped but could do without some of the extra on-the-nose CGI (the cloud over her head, the "constellation" shoot). Karma is... an exercise about After Effects so she can get the Marvel coin soon I guess. From her songwriting alone we know she's very much capable of showing a lot without saying much, so there's no need to use some of the literal images and metaphors as a director.

Just a note to say that Death By A Thousand Cuts is one of her very best songs. Lover is rife with issues, not least some slightly smothering and/or anonymous production, but the live/acoustic versions... yes.
