  1. Actual footage of @ModeRed and his revising Girlfriend in their "library"...

  2. As for 90s solo-Roland TFF, there is probably a brilliant album's worth of stuff from Elemental and Raoul.

From the Elemental album, I love the title cut (pure energy), Break It Down, Fish Out Of Water and probably a couple of others (the B-sides from this era are often better than the LP cuts). And then from Raoul I like the overwraught title song (a flop single), Secrets, God's Mistake and again a handful of others. Some of it descends into noisy Alanis-esque alt.pop/rock.

  3. Raoul title track was a great late discovery for me when I got the Rule the World greatest hits.

  4. Raoul and God's Mistake are top 20 Tears for Fears for me. I especially love the lyric: "He said, "God does not play dice". Yet if he's everywhere, he's in casinos with aces to spare" in God's Mistake.

  5. So let me suggest a few interim songs if not albums. Here goes:

    a. Break it down again
    b. Goodnight song
    c. Bullet for Brains - Roland Orzabal solo from the "Tomcats screaming outside" album
    d. Secret World
    e. I love you but I'm lost

    I hope this helps!

  6. There is a second pressing of The Tipping Point Blu Ray - https://superdeluxeedition.com/news...for-fears-the-tipping-point-on-blu-ray-audio/

I didn't ordered the first edition but I did buy the limited CD from SDE shop which was £15.00 plus £5.00 postage.
    Total £20.00 or €24.05

In addition, I paid the following on delivery:
    Irish VAT (23%) – €5.53
    Handing fee – €3.50
    Total – €9.03

Someone on the SDE comments page rightfully points out that UK VAT is not deducted for non-UK customers even though the SDE shop is not obliged to charge it for export sales. That means non-UK customers pay two lots of VAT.

    Paul Sinclair's response is
"All I will say is that I didn’t vote for Brexit. Costs for servicing EU customers are higher than UK customers."
    -
which is presumably already reflected in the higher postage charges so.......

  7. Not great. You would think SDE would simply adjust the postage charges for the EU to reflect that, even though their system might not be able to automatically deduct the VAT during checkout.

More paperwork for them I guess.

  8. Other sites can manage it (Amazon UK, Network DVD)

The disclaimer on the site says:
"EU SHIPPING NOTES: If you are ordering from the EU please be aware that that goods may be subject to import VAT when they arrive from the UK. The prices the SDE shop charge you do not include VAT"

Which is somewhat disingenuous as the price does include UK VAT.
Proof: I have tried ordering from SDE with a UK address and the item cost (excluding postage) is the same as a non-UK address. That's the crux of the problem.

Whereas if I order from Amazon UK and the price is say £17.31, here is what happens:
Amazon deduct UK VAT (20%) and add on Irish VAT (23%) so I pay £17.74.
And no more extra charges on delivery as the VAT issue is already dealt with.

  10. Saw them tonight and they were amazing. No Small Thing is such a brilliant opener, the hits of course went down an absolute storm, and others, notably Badman's Song, The Tipping Point and My Demons sounded and looked absolutely epic.

Support act, the Brand New Heavies were really good too, though nowhere near as good as Alison Moyet would have been, had she not needed to cancel.

Would definitely go and see them again if they tour the next album (in hope of a next album).

  12. Oh I so hope not (but I suspect you're right)... they're clearly back in their element, loving it again and producing brilliant music, so even at Rowland's pace of productivity, surely another album this decade is on the table? I'm not ready for Tears For Fears in their 80's coz that would mean I'm... not so young anymore, haha!

  13. so jealous! I wish they were playing in New York City - and not far as out as Jones Beach in Long Island. That is such a pain in the ass to get to and it looks like, I was going to fly solo for this one so my motivation was somewhat muted. Of course, if "Secret Location" was on the setlist, I would have definitely gone.

  15. It is a shame they dropped End Of Night. It is hands down one of the best songs off the new album.

  16. No excuse for leaving Advice off

  17. I was gutted on the last tour that Mother's Talk wasn't included and again this time!

  18. Yeah I'd give up on that one, sadly. They are never going to play a song of theirs they don't like live.
