Ted Lasso (Apple TV+)

That bromance is really going on... It really looks too good to be true

The more I watch s3 the more I ask why this should be the final season. It doesn't look they have run out of ideas, the show is still interesting and fresh and it can be funny and emotional. I can see no reason to end it in a few episodes.

Ep 6 just dropped. The longest one to date at over an hour.

I thought season one was wonderful, but it’s gone steadily downhill since. That ludicrous Christmas episode almost broke me. The Coach Beard one was dreadful too.

I did read season 3 was the to be final one, but I wonder if as the show is very successful, they‘ll stretch it out a bit further.

It‘s one of those shows that as the more it goes on, the less I’m liking the characters. Best to wrap it up soon, IMO. I’m guessing Ted will return to America at the end.

I'm kind of struggling with this season to be honest, so I'm glad I don't seem to be the only one. I'm not a fan of the episodes being stretched out to 45+ minutes so imagine my disdain when I saw the last episode was over an hour!

That being said, the last episode was definitely the best of the season so far. I really enjoyed the different pairs of characters bonding, and I'm relieved they didn't go down the 2005 route for the Colin/Trent storyline.

New episode... Dreams by Cranberries !
Edit: Oh my dear ! That red line ! Last week episode was great, this is almost great !

It feels like it's been handed over to a team of sitcom writers suddenly. Still enjoyable because of the cast, but something has been lost.
I think it's because they let Jason change a lot of the direction and writing, and perhaps he doesn't really understand why the audience watched in the first place.

The whole Nate side plot feels so unnecessary. He attacks Ted at the end of season 2, and the conflict just... goes unresolved or explained further.
I think the latest episode is preparing an end to this conflict. Don't know if Nate is coming back to AFC Richmond, but something's gonna happen (soon) between Rupert and him

It kinda shouldn't have to come to that for him to do the right thing if they wanted to properly redeem him, but oh well..
(I guess he was kinda being bullied by the footballers before Ted arrived so it's not like Richmond had always been great to him, he just took it out on the wrong people)

I think the last episode was pretty bad. It just seems really forced and fake now. Some of the ’comedy’ is so broad and coarse I’m reminded of the later series of Trollied!

I think the last few episodes have been a lot better than how the season started. They're doing a terrible job of integrating Nate's storyline with the rest of the group though. I get that he's not with the main cast anymore but it feels like I'm watching a completely separate show (that I don't care for) every time he's on screen.

Same with Keely's and Rebecca's storyline. This season has been very aimless.

Thusfar a lot of supposedly aimless things eventually all came together, but yeah.. thusfar especially with Keely it felt very 'what can we have her do now she's not with Roy?'

Aimless is the perfect descriptor. I can see the attempt at focusing on a different character per episode (Sam's restaurant, Keely's video leak, Colin's coming out), but it doesn't feel like the season is building up to anything. Unless it's just... Nate coming back, which they're not doing a good job of setting up.
