  1. Iga reacting to her unexpected number 1 status with a resounding "let's fucking DO THIS" has been enjoyable to watch, but I hope she has stronger and more consistent competition in 2023.

    I'm not sure what fining them (and as a result cutting funding that could have been used for lower-level tournaments) is going to achieve. It's an odd punishment to hand out.

  9. Such a shame considering the year he had in 2022. Clears the path for Novak even more. Also could help players like Tiafoe, Rune and Medvedev have an even deeper run than they would’ve if he was healthy and in great form.

  11. So our former champions are a player ranked outside the top 200 after two seasons blighted by injury and poor form, and a 33-year-old who's won one tournament in the last six years.
