The 2019 PJ Chart Rate: Finished!

Staff member

Well another PJ Chart Rate season has come and gone.
It's time to rest.

Hello my friends and welcome to the 2019 PJ Chart Rate. Also known as an experiment in how many charts I can simultaneously host before I have (another) nervous breakdown. We had a lot of new people join the fam this year, so I suppose I should explain the rules. For those of you who are even newer than that, let's go back, back to the beginning. From January to December 2019 we collectively chose the five most popular songs of the month. For you math wizards that means we have 60 entries into the 2019 PJ Chart Rate. Now because of past ... let's say "unpleasantness," I made a vow to never again host a traditional versus style rate spanning multiple genres. Trust me, it doesn't end well. So once I took over this fine rate (originated by @DJHazey) I transformed it using a modified Eurovision style. Not only is this easiest for me, it will hopefully result in people leaving genres they hate alone and just praising what they love. Another way to think of it? You're automatically giving half the songs a zero. Anyway, enough rambling. How does this work? You will be granted THREE EUROVISION STYLE BALLOTS and be asked to assign your points to half of the entries. You must use all of your three ballots. This is to encourage people to listen to songs they passed over during the year and not just vote for the easily recognizable names. Here is an example of an appropriate ballot:

12 points: Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3
10 points: Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3
8 points: Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3
7 points: Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3
6 points: Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3
5 points: Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3
4 points: Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3
3 points: Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3
2 points: Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3
1 point: Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3

All of the ballots will be revealed one by one over the course of a few days. I will tally the points as we go along to determine our 2019 PJ Chart champion. Oh, and @berserkboi will be helping me enter ballots because I'm also hosting two other charts you should definitely be voting for (the January 2020 PJ Charts and the Best of the 2010s Song Countdown).
