His delivery for Shakespeare as well as the puns were just as bad.

It's all very stale. Same tasks each time that don't bear any relevance on their business plans. If the winning business is a skin care range or a fitness app or whatever, who gives a fuck if they got more rhubarb than required?!

It would be better if it was more like the final episode for the entire series, where say 10 candidates each have the opportunity to set up their business, so get to come up with branding and marketing and merchandising or whatever - a different task each week that is relevant to their business, and whittled down that way. It'd have to be done in a way that the contestants still are together and spark off each other.

I watched some of S2 on YouTube last year and it was very different. In episode 1 they all met and mingled in the house before anything happened. Now, going to the house is the prize in ep 1!

I actually preferred it when they got a job to work for Alan Sugar as opposed to giving them money to set their business. Obviously he got rid of that because of fellow winners suing him...

He/Him

They sued him?

Yes. The job made it an open playing field. Now the business plans clearly play a part from day one which spoils it.

Sugar reciting Shakespeare was such unnecessary ego boosting. The most it shows is that he has a good memory.

It wouldn't surprise me if he was frantically trying to remember the lines before filming, or more plausibly, being fed the lines through an ear piece.

It's akin to someone reciting Pi to 100 decimal places; it doesn't mean they are good at Maths or highly intelligent.

One thing remembering it, but another thing being able to sell the words. He was so monotone and wooden, like his usual puns and one liners.

I know the show has been on a downward trajectory for a while but this season just seems completely devoid of any enjoyment or is it just me?
I'm with you on that one. I will continue to watch out of habit (and because I'm a glutton for punishment), but I echo the comments here that the show is really in need of a revamp.

I know we've all said this pretty much every year, but it's so stupid that they create something and then get feedback from the public. As a contestant, why do I care about the public's opinion on a project that I've already finished and can't change based on the feedback anyway? And as a viewer, watching them spew out clearly producer fed feedback just isn't fun to watch anymore.

They should always do this first, because let's face it, they can have as much consumer research as they want, but the egos and arguments will naturally happen, probably still ending with poor products. The show just needs to pretend that it cares about giving them a fighting chance.

Also yikes!! (Spoiler for a future exit)

It's also interesting to read that all the candidates had to be spoken to about comments surrounding race.

I caught the final few minutes of last week's episode randomly, saw Sugarpuss babbling Shakespeare quotes, moaning about rhubarb!?, a bunch of ass-saving twats trying to blame everything on the closest person to them, then firing some fit guy, so am glad I opted out of Season MCMXVIII.

Nadia is so entertaining, the only reason this series is worth watching for me so far. If their team loses this week and she gets sent home I will be so mad. How iconic will it be if she overrules everybody and they end up winning.
