On a Monday, I am waiting
On a Tuesday, I am fading
And by Wednesday, I can't sleep
- Ashlee's biggest chart hit. (#5 in US, #4 in UK)
- Billboard ranked the song #97 in The 100 Greatest Choruses of the 21st Century.
Remorque - 10
Forgive me for calling this a classic, but this song never fails to give me the feels when it comes on. Immediately I'm taken back to a simpler time when these pop rock hits were everywhere. Ashlee tapped into that genre quite magnificently, but I just can't watch the video anymore, noticing the fake scribbling of lyrics and tics. The song though? Perfect!

There's nothing else to say except how much Ashlee absolutely soars on this one. Show the haters girl, you have a voice and they can all remain pressed.

A legit hit and a time capsule of what's like to be a pumpkin spice latte rocker chick in 2005 in the best possible way.
Runaway - 10
I had loved Ashlee’s voice ever since the Freaky Friday soundtrack, and so when she started her singing career with this song, I was over the moon. This song is still so good today, and re-listening to it now it takes me back to that time and I can’t help but smile.

I literally tear up when those opening guitar strums hit. Such a powerful, timeless classic. This is up there with "Unwritten" and "Come Clean" for me in terms of pure unbridled 2004 nostalgia. That chorus is rock-pop perfection. You would think it was overplayed after all these years, but I actually feel like I don't hear it enough anymore.

Somehow I got this in the PJ00s pop quiz as soon as I saw the "Oh".

The classic hit from this album.

The Big Hit. It’s a well written song. The vocal is fine, despite what I’ve thought was a pretty messy overall production. It’s not mixed very well & they make poor Ashlee practically have to scream over parts of it. I don’t know, maybe they were trying to make it ‘edgy’, but it’s always bugged me a bit. Much like a similar Kara song that is horribly mixed (Hilary’s ‘Fly’) luckily the song is really good & Ash has the charisma to make it work. She just shouldn’t had to have worked so hard.

Possibly one of the best debut singles of the mid-00's. That catchy chorus is really elevated by Ashlee's somewhat rough and ready vocal.
Seventeen Days - 9
Yath sis, gimme that power pop goodness. Her “punk” shirt in the video is a bit brigitte_nielsen_laughing.gif though.
Untouchable Ace - 8.6
When I heard this for the first time I didn't know who she was, in the opening verse especially she sounds like a European chanteuse.
Music is Life - 8.5
This is good, I like the way the production builds, and the lyrics are cute.

OOOOH I feel like what I'm feeling is a feeling that I feel, still a jam, especially when sung, Acapulco
Sprockrooster - 7.5
I always seem to be enjoying this more than I expect to do listening to it.

I probably like this song more than I think I do, but it’s just not Ashlee’s best. I do remembering listening to it for the first time and being irked by the way that she almost says “pisses of me” in the post-chorus cause of the pout you can hear her singing with. This song is fine and all, but in all honesty it’s existence is futile; it will never be given the medal for The Best Song About Ryan Cabrera, for "Revenge is Sweet (Than You Ever Were)" will forever hold that title.
