I'm making up scores and seeing the resulting ranks. Excel is the best thing ever. Just kidding. Or not.
There's a song that should've have gotten a 0/10 from Headstrong, but I love her so much I couldn't do it. So, a 1/10 it was. It's almost as bad as "Cry", which was one of my only 0s from the Hilary rate and that felt like disowning my own child.
Preeetty sure @DJHazey and I are talking about the same song (at least I hope we are!), and I also gave that a 1. It's absolutely, utterly appalling. I've only ever given out a zero 3 times in all the rates I've ever participated in, so it takes a certain kind of song for me to hate it THAT much, and this came dangerously close. I'm actually just sitting here wondering how a room full of label execs willingly listened and decided that it was remotely acceptable for public consumption. It's so ghastly.
I'm intrigued which track it is now. Bring on finding out when the rate starts. I'm hoping it's one of my low scores too.
Guilty Pleasure is a treasure. Headstrong is....something else entirely. I stopped after Zoom Song so I could take a break on a high note. @RainOnFire, I'm curious now, so I'll put what I was talking about in a spoiler. (Don't open if you don't want to know) Spoiler Unlove You
Ah yeah the vocals on that song... I'd be shocked if I was Ashley and listened to that as the finished product.
The vocal production on Headstrong is a stone-cold mess (what is even going on in Who I Am? The entire chorus sounds like it's just backing vocals with the lead vocal missing) but Unlove You is just...beyond. I've finished with Headstrong and my average is 6.43, which actually doesn't seem that bad? (Only four songs got scores above 8, kii.)
The song you are all talking about is truly abhorrent. Perhaps a 0 will suit that mess right. (The verses are actually okay though.)
Unlove You is definitely the worst thing on either album. Although Who I Am is pretty bad for the fact that someone is Christina Milian-ing Ashley on that chorus ala J.Lo's Play.
Heads up everyone. I had a slight celeb crush on Ashley unlike any of the other Disney-pop stars at the time. (That's why you never see me discussing Demi or Selena in that manner. And I've only stanned Hilary like that over the past few years.) So you may or may not see it pop up in my commentary. Spoiler FYI, she's only two years younger than me so it's all good. *wink*
I just envisioned Sharpay replying to this post like this Spoiler She wants fabulous, that is her simple request.
