Very sad to think we'll never get another B-52's album. Pop will be a less colourful place without this band in it.
Love Shack was the first hit after the move from Island to Warners, so everything before that was released on Island (now part of Universal Music, if I'm keeping up with all the mergers and changes!). I guess the digital world is still catching up with the physical, where the licensing has become less complex in the last decade or so.

I saw them open for Culture Club last year. I wanted to like them because they are such icons, but I couldn’t get into them. I find their songs very gimmicky. And they do more shrieking than actual singing.
I just meant the announcement of these new dates didn't reference anything about it being a farewell outing, only that the tour was to mark their 40th anniversary.
Oh I apologise then! 'Farewell' was definitely mentioned when the European dates were announced though, they probably edited that later.
Well now we're at a farewell tour. I've just bought nosebleeds to offset the amount of vital organs I need to sell in order to afford the seperate VIP package of a "meet and greet, totebag, and farewell champagne."
I'm also gutted. I do remember a couple years ago they were pursuing options to release a 40th anniversary albums boxset, and that it would include brand new songs. But while they seemed pretty sure of it, that also could've been them just thinking about the possibility of doing it rather than following through. But who knows! I think with all of them living far from each other, Keith stepping back in the group, and the stated need to self-fund the record, a proper follow-up to Funplex wasn't in the cards. (I am, however. manifesting the opposite, and I'm going to need them to announce a surprise album, thanks be the universe.)
I would absolutely welcome a final album. Funplex was the perfect mix of classic B-52s and their sound updated for modern times. The last time I saw them live I was very glad that they performed songs from it.
