The Big Reunion (S3)

Throughout series 2 I kept saying how they should go after US acts. They ruined what could've been a big franchise by focusing on such little known groups. Even if a US group hasn't been popular in the UK in a long time, they at least have credentials and interesting stories to use on a show like this. SWV, En Vogue, TLC and Danity Kane should've always been at the top of their wish list. If they could manage to get Danity Kane I could see this new season being a big hit. That group knows how to bring the drama and their story sells itself.

No one in the UK knows Danity Kane come on...

The series is guaranteed yet, it just depends on if they can get the right acts onboard.

They could push a 'girls night out tour' with just girlgroups (and maybe Liberty X) and use All Saints, Atomic Kitten & Eternal. Perhaps Eternal could even feature on the show if they could get Louise to agree and also talk about Kelle's health issues.

Boring. The last series was a load of bollocks. I'd be surprised if this gets off the ground... I'd be more interested in British 80s acts or some genuine popstars with bigger hits. SWV had like one hit here, and it only sold because it was 88% a Michael Jackson sample. But at the end of the day, it's 6-8 weeks entertainment on ITV2 which might get 25% of the participants a few gigs, so it'll be over in a flash if it goes ahead and no one will care enough during or after.

All Saints will probably do this given their comeback fizzled out before it even got going.

But seriously, is there any interest in this franchise left? They've milked it to death.

I stopped watching series two very quickly. Unless there's a twist on the formula - 80s popstars returning, as some of you have suggested - then there isn't any point, because we've already watched the main groups from the 90s return from the grave. And Blue. I think Peter failed to get the balance right with his script, because a lot of the jokes bordered on absolute vicious.

Just noticed the typo on my last post. It was supposed to say 'the next series is not guaranteed. It all depends on if they get strong enough acts onboard.'

Well, I have it on good authority that Supersister are reforming.....whether or not it's for Bid Reunion, I couldn't say.

It can't be happening. There aren't enough suitable acts to generate enough interest.

They em should reboot it with some solo stars, rework the format so its about what went right/wrong (as opposed to who hated who) and get them on stage and a tour of the names can draw.

The presence of Kavana and Adam Rickitt on the last series should give some idea as to the likely calibre of 'solo stars'. ITV2 would be better off running a test card for an hour.

Honestly, the second series didn't have one redeeming feature. Witless and mean-spirited commentary, a barrel-scraping line-up, misery porn, blatant whitewashing of previous comeback attempts (how can anyone expect to get away with that in the internet age?), contrived drama among acts no-one cared about the first time round, the dismal concert finale featuring hardly any performance footage...I could go on. Does anyone seriously believe this show has more mileage in it?

All ten of 3LW's fans are dreaming it will.

I'd actually love a series with 3LW, Dream, A*Teens, and probably 98 Degrees and O-Town should have done something similar to generate interest in their comebacks. I'd even take a series that follows Farrah, La Toya & Latavia of Destiny's Child trying to do something. I'd call it Destiny's Forgotten Children.

Or a really rachet makeover to suit the name Destiny's Bastards.
