The Halloween Franchise

I watched this opening weekend and I actually didn't hate it, but that's probably because all expectations were in the gutter long in advance.

I understood what they were trying to do with it - a town creating their own monster. It's just that it wasn't very interesting. And this complete side step to a different storyline really didn't work either. And this all comes down to the planning (or lack of) - Corey should have been there from '18 or at the very least, Kills. Allow us o get to know him properly before he going on his killing spree. Because I really wasn't buy this Bonnie and Clyde nonsense he and Alyson had going on after a few days.

I really like Haddonfield in the film though. He really felt like its own character and it looked great. Corey was also nice to look at.

It just really felt like the film was lacking in any real memorable moments. Even Kills had that. It's just a shame how we got from Halloween '18 (which I know still wasn't without its problems) to ... this. I know it's inevitable that we will head to Haddonfield again in the next few years, I just hope whatever it is compliments the legacy of the series more than these last two films have.

I am going to be extra and admit that I unabashedly love Halloween Kills. I know it was a hot mess but the die hard fan of Halloween (78) just can't deny the return of Lindsay, Marion and Sheriff Bracket and I still think Kyle's Bag o' Bricks is a franchise high. The way my heart was racing when she went to warn those kids and the quick lil' massacre that took place... It was just a moment.

Evil Dies Tonight and a large chunk of dialogue aside, I think it may very well be Franchise Top 5 material.

I am immediately committing you and @TeamDorinda!! involuntarily to the Dr. Loomis Sanitorium School For Wayward Girls!!

I watched the 2018 film and Kills this week after suffering through Ends, and I still enjoy both so much. Kills surprised me, as I only saw it once last year. It’s brutal and ridiculous, but such a fun ride. Kyle remains iconic and her “Run. Go, now!” scene is top notch.

I HATE LITTLE HADDONFIELDSTERS!!

Now that the films are over, I'm going to make my pitch for our next follow up: A Halloween tv series on Peacock starring Kyle Richards.

You can say Laurie and Will moved to another city for peace, maybe even include Allyson if the actress is willing. Continue developing the town and the characters, let us know more about Lindsay's life and who her family is and have a new shape pop up.

Seen this tonight, it was so much better than Kills which is truly horrific. If it was an unrelated movie not attached to Halloween, it would have been great. But in terms of being a Halloween movie, it was just okay.

I LOVED Halloween '18 on first viewing and saw it twice at the cinema. But with each viewing I find things I like less and less. Mostly Laurie's character and some of the movie set pieces (such as the underground trap beneath the kitchen counter... sorry but that's ridiculous).
