Oh, so now that y'all almost got rid of all the ballads in the rate y'all are going for the mid-tempos? I see how it is. Produced by Hi-yunk and written by Kumi, the positivitea bop was first heard on the radio before the official release on "AND". Despite that fact, it was not a single and didn't even get a music video as her promotional tracks tend to.

I love this. As I probably have mentioned during this whole shindig of a rate, these pop/R'n'B ditties about happiness are the best Kumi can offer. Yes, she has the massive bops and I stan them, but with this kind of songs I feel so much closer to Kumi. There is just an overwhelming amount of love and warmth here, so much so that I just can't resist. The R'n'B-esque quality of the track is fresh, since Kumi has been leaning towards god knows what at that point in time and that Yoshi feature on backing vocals provides some uniqueness. Not to mention the post-chorus and the key-change make the whole thing so much more exciting. It's honestly one of the best songs on "AND" and in this Part of the rate.

It's another motivational song in the message department. Looks like y'all are allergic to this kind as well, huh?

Feeling a bit down, feel so sad
I'm able to gently rely on my best friend
No matter what I always imagine my dream
And I hear a voice in me saying:
"Everything's gonna be all right"

Funny, I think this to myself as well.

It's okay, everybody, you can totally reposrt frhis post for @Yeziirl (6,5) using webspeak, "All meh." Leave the puns to the professionals, i.e. @Weslicious.

@Cutlery (7) felt the R'n'B vibes, "Serving lost 90s boyband single." Wish you'd give it a higher score...

@otenkiame (9) found his summer soundtrack, "My goodness, I do enjoy this a lot! The laidback and summer vibes work so much in its favour. Sure, I wasn't initially sold on it, but a few spins really got me stanning all out! Those hooks fit the summery vibe EXACTLY how they should be. I can vividly imagine a day at the beach when listening to this." How's the heat has been this year in Tokyo?

@RUNAWAY (10) got what I got from the song as well, "I love laidback songs like this one. This is a total 10, and I just love it when you can tell that an artist is loving the song during recording." YES.

I was really lucky I got to see this performed live right in front of my eyes during "AND" fanclub tour.
She really sounded very happy singing it.

So whose 11 is going now?

On and on, on and on it goose...

No one's! Because my stupid ass thought this one got an 11 from @RUNAWAY, since I remembered how much he loved it. Not as much as the song he actually gave his 11 to, looks like. Okay, but look, this rate isn't false advertisement, I promise! The rate will see an 11 going in its 40s.

And with that we're saying good-bye to "WINTER of LOVE". Produced by Ylva Dimberg (LOONA's "Where You At" !!, Girls' Generation's "Lingua Franca" !!!), Ollipop, Daniel Caesar and Ludwig Lindell (all three worked on Girls' Generation's "All Night" !!! and Red Velvet's "Zimzalabim" !!!) and written by them and Kumi, the track was one of the two new ones on the compilation. It also got a mobile phone centric music video. Two videos, actually, with the second one being made specifically for watching vertically on your phone.

This is so beautiful. To tell you the truth, I paid this dust for the longest time. I don't know, maybe I wasn't in the right mood when this came out, but it had zero impact on me apart from that "goose" I was hearing and, well, the sticking chorus. Somehow "NO ME WITHOUT YOU" had a far more lasting impression me. Still, revisiting this for the rate with fresh ears, I can say that I was so wrong and I'm ready to atone for my transgressions. This is almost divine, damn. Kumi sounds angelic, the song picks up its pace diversifying itself from the plethora of other ballads and the catchy almost chanty chorus is really amazing. It is especially great, when that key change at the end happens. I think if this was infused with a bit of jazz or had some lovely multi-layered backing vocals for the chorus, it would have been sent over the top, but so far it's a 9, but a very deserving and a solid one.

The song is about it going on and on, of course.

Snuggling up to you, let's live on

Having read the lyrics, I still don't know what exactly goes on and on, dddd. Life? Love? My nether regions?

Apparently @Cutlery (7) was feeling nostalgic rating for this rate, since here he goes again about the 90s, "This screams "midtempo as deluxe track #15 on 1999 female debut album". Though it is cute."

Oh, look! Another proof why I thought that @RUNAWAY (10) gave his precious 11 to this song, "iconic. I love this song, and it was my runner up 11, so I really hope this does well here. Her vocals are so on point here, and this song is just stunning."

And finally @otenkiame (10) confirms my fears, that he, as well, doesn't know what exactly goes on and on, "I adore this song. I don't care how much others say it's generic; it just works for me. The way the synths and piano meld together so well is all I need it to be and more. Kuu gives a wonderful performance as well, really making me believe that whatever it is that goes on and on does in fact go on and on. Love this ballad!"

Somehow this is horribly underperformed. I believe there was one TV performance back in the day and also a outing during "The Artist" 15th anniversary concerts. The live rendition with the band and the back vocalists is what I was saying about jazzing it up!

We're back to "WALK OF MY LIFE" for this one. Produced by Fredrik"Fredro"Odesjo (Amuro Namie's "Hands On Me" !!! and Wonder Girls' "G.N.O." !!!) and written by him, KAMI KAORU ("show girl"), Sabrina Louise Bernstein (Hey Voilet's "O.D.D."), Paolo"Shirazi"Prudencio (Girls' Generation's "Mr.Taxi" !!!) and Piox Pirovano (the sole credit), the track appeared as a new one on the album. It's the only track on the album that was not written by Kuu.

MY... What a rush! Such a massive burst of energy, no wonder Kumi decided to open her "WALK OF MY LIFE" with this on top of a Benz, literally. This is just the right kind of noisy, there is nothing out of place and everything serves its purpose. Moreover Kuu's delivery is a pure power coupled with all that bass and those synths and beats. I just need to headbang to this with someone, any volunteers?

When it comes to the lyrics, I always thought that it should have been "You can't keep up with me", but in the overall context of the song the title works, as this is kinda like a bratty invitation to have the party of your life. Kumi is surely the one to keep up with after all. Can certainly work both for a lover or the fans as well.

I'll give you a ticket for paradise
If I need to baby-sit, then go right now to the back door
I want to see what you've got
You can keep up with me, can't you?

I know for sure that y'all can keep up with me, it's only an elimination a day, dddd.

A rare comment from @cookiedough (7) left me dumbfounded, "I can’t believe Koda Kumi invented spinning" Invented what now?

@otenkiame (8) lived for the big ass sound of it all, "An aggressive and in-your-face track that gives Kuu a lot of time to show off her vocal prowess. It's not even 3 minutes, which seems a bit too short, but it works. The hooks are basically just Kuu shouting out that this boy "should know" over and over, so I can see why someone wouldn't like this. Still, I just like how assertive Kuu is." Yes, as you said it all just works.

@Yeziirl (9) likened the track to another one on the album, "This is like a sister of Lippy and has that ratchety “try me bitch” vibe. Minus point for the lack of proper chorus, so all that momentum is spent on “you should know” part which feels endless and kills the vibe." I don't know, the instrumental is so intense in the chorus, that it might've been too much to have anything else for it.

Bopping to this no doubt, @Music Is Life (9) deconstracted the track, "I love the buzzing electronic synth in this one. And the way it melds with the almost bouncy beat in the chorus and how it completely switches up except for that pulse in the post-chorus are all really interesting elements to be honest."

And @Cutlery (9) appreciated Kuu owning it, "Oh but how I LOVE when Kuu gets all cocky. The production fits her, and even when she gets screamy she sells it well. I can imagine this doesn’t translate well live at all tho" And here you are mistaken, since it was quite a moment live.

Speaking of which, here is that grand opening from the "WALK OF MY LIFE" tour I've mentioned.
She looked so freaking cool, oh my good.
