The Lady Gaga Rate (Haus Labs now available)

Discussion in 'Charts, rates etc' started by Subwaykid, Nov 4, 2019.

  1. Gaga sounds horribly strained in the song. The less is said about C**p*r ha vocals, the better.
  2. I actually thought it was one of the better songs from the soundtrack...

  5. I thought that this was cute. Also, I might've been casually distributing 10s.

  6. Same. It's the only ASIB ballad I ever listen to aside from Shallow. Still, not unexpected for it to leave here. I doubt I'll get too upset about any ASIB exit.

  7. The zeros are coming thick and fast now.
  8. I Don’t Know What Love is cute. I liked the lyrics.

  9. Very harmless song! She has some dross that deserved to go before this.

  10. "I Don't Know What Love Is" is the first song that I would call underrated.
Not that it's brilliant (I gave it a 7,75), but it's actually one of the better songs on the soundtrack and there's much worse here in general. The only ballads that are better than it are "Shallow" and "Always Remember Us This Way".
I can hear why voters weren't so keen on the vocals, or simply found it too forgettable, but it remains a very cute song that definitely didn't deserve a bottom 5 placement.

That being said, "Before I Cry" and "Is That Alright?" can leave soon.
  11. Out of the ten songs that got my lowest scores, the only one eliminated so far was Lush Life. Would be nice to see some of the others vacate while we're still in the bottom 10.

  12. I wholeheartedly cosign this post
  13. Only three songs on the soundtrack are worthy of repeated listens.
  14. Generous.

  15. I count 2 and neither of those are Shallow.
  16. I liked the A Star Is Born soundtrack when I had to score it for this rate, but I wouldn't actively listen to it.

  17. Agreed.

Anyway, let me try to knock out a handful today since 1. I missed yesterday 2. these are the boring eliminations and the BPG thread is threatening to open at any moment and take my streams.

This aint half bad but it didn’t seem like any of you could muster up much of an opinion either way. It seemed to be on either end of 4 or 7 and there wasn’t much commentary to accompany it. Meh. The “digging mah digging mah digging mah” hook is pretty good, eh?

@Music Is Life throws out the c word to describe it “This is pretty good. My inborn love for some country music loves this, and honestly they sound so fucking good together it’s hard for me to not enjoy this. I head bob to this once those drums come in, and the steel guitar (I think?) solo is really good.@Alenko stans a bit “Come on this is a bop and her voice is sooo good in this. Underappreciated.” “This is my favorite duet out of the album tracks.@Maki declares “It has a really good groove to it. The chorus is really enjoyable, my favorite part actually. Gaga's raspy vocals are killer! It does kind of lack something more to it, although remains a great song@Laurence, however, is “not a fan…@Petit nain des Îles doesn’t care for it either “I… don’t care for this. This can’t get more generic for a blues song.@R27 throws out the other c word and makes me realize it’s only a matter of time until I hear Gaga on Q104.3, oh mirror in the sky what is love? “This reminds me of the classic rock station I listened to with my dad growing up. It's not necessarily a direction I'd want to see Gaga pursue long term, but she executes this pretty perfectly.@Sleepycat thinks so too “I love Gaga in this mode and she's such a natural at it.” And @Sprockrooster chants “More of this mutha!@jtm thinks it’s "much more interesting than the first songs on the album”. And @daninternational predicted this wouldn’t win the rate “This is not the greatest song in the world. (it's actually kinda bad)
