The Lady Gaga Rate (Haus Labs now available)

don't mean to be that person but my commentary seems to have got lost in the shuffle...

Christmas Tree
Finally!

Can't believe this escaped the bottom 5 and managed to surpass a song from "The Fame".
It's my lowest score in the entire rate (a 4,5) and I really don't get the fuss about it. Objectively, it's just an overly superficial and cheap song, with nothing artistic about it. The production is so dated, too.
I love Christmas (and am quite indifferent towards Christmas music), but this song is just not good.

Also, the video linked isn't the official version (neither is the video), because there is an extra (most likely fan made) verse, which actually sounds nice. This is the original version:

That top comment:
This song is the reason I'm not allowed to pick the Christmas music in our house anymore.

Yeah, it has that classic tongue-in-cheek lyrical style of early Gaga, but that doesn't mean that every song in that manner is great.

Iconic artwork, though.

I'm still not sure whether some of those 10's are serious or not.

I love Christmas Tree, but probably did force too many people to keep playing it too.

That weird demo thing though with MILK AND COOKIES, FOR YOU AND MEE...
We probably never find out how real it is or so.

In other news. There is one specific unreleased I still desire to get my hands on. You all know it.

Yeah....giving Christmas Tree a 10 when the same people probably gave like Telephone and Marry the Night a 10....is laughable.
If I had to hand out my rate scores based on "I desperately want to give this bonus song a 10, but many years ago I also gave [insert amazing pop single here] a 10, so I'm not sure if the 10 I want to give out right now is truly a 10, but more, like, a 9.999", then I'd never get any scores done.

Ddd I actually don't really care how people rate or what their system is. I just know that last year in the BPG Rate someone posted something like 'Remember everyone, when you've rated all the albums, look back at your 10s and see if they all make sense when rated against each other!'.

Which is pretty solid advice.

By all means, do you.
