The Lady Gaga Rate (Haus Labs now available)

I see the ballad haters are starting to have an impact.

"Again, Again" is quite adorable, yet slightly boring, which balanced out my score of 6,5. Actually, I think I slightly underscored it because the chorus is so good. I agree that the ending is a bit odd.
All in all, "Brown Eyes" does it better.
I can understand why it was eliminated early, even though there are worse songs still in.
And that wasn't an intentional The Beatles drag @Subwaykid - in fact, I really like them.
They should have put Let Love Down on as a deluxe track instead of Again, Again. Looking on Youtube for a video of the song and discovered Rob Fusari put out his own version of it... ew. Anyways, here's hers.

Yes! I was about to highlight this song, it's better than both "Again, Again" and "Brown Eyes" and it's such a pity it was never officially released. She has quite an amount of those unreleased 'rock-ballad' songs in the early days that are great, but I'll mention them later.

"Dope" is already out?!
Okay, I'm not so surprised after seeing many of you calling for it, but still.
Can't believe you did it so wrong.
I never knew it was so divisive until recently, and it's ironic that it's one of the very few songs I didn't comment on (yet), while you had a lot to say about it.

Personally, that is an amazing and passionate vocal performance and I have absolutely no issues with the lyrics (even find them really impressive). While it's not a perfection melodically, the dramatic instrumental, including the organ, is brilliant. There's something classic to it that I love.
I adore how it builds up and the use of synths in order to assimilate a bit with the rest of the album is genius.

Also, the 'disturbing' factor of all surrounding the song, from that cover, outfit and teeth (all of which I unironically love) to the backstory, lyrics and the vocal delivery, just works in creating a very emotional, heavy, even slightly uneasy vibe, no matter how far removed it is from the rest of the album.

As for the original version ("I Wanna Be With You"), the vocals are more pleasant, the instrumental is a bit more traditional and I love a different take on the theme, as well as the final part of the instrumental, but the rawness of "Dope" edges it out by a tiny bit.

Considering it one of the best from "ARTPOP", "Dope" received a score of 9,25 from me (which I'm now thinking could've been even higher), which puts it in my top 3 of that album and makes it my biggest loss so far.
Luckily, at least five people fully recognized its beauty and it's pleasing to see that - thanks @Remorque, @Music Is Life, @Lila, @daninternational and @push the button.

Love it, hate it, but you can't deny the fact that it's the ultimate sonic standout of the album and a top 10 hit.

I'm afraid that "Joanne" is going to take its first hit ('afraid' referring to me not writing any commentary for that album yet).
I'll be fine if "Just Another Day", "Hey Girl" or "Sinner's Prayer" left, but nothing from "Joanne" is worse than at least one remaining song from each album (except for "The Fame Monster").

It's very plausible that some of the soundtrack songs may leave next, too.
Speaking of which, I can't believe that "Dope" left before blandness that are "Is That Alright?" and "Before I Cry".

I'm too scared to admit which is my least favourite ballad by Lady Gaga (and it's my lowest remaining score, too).

I mean I don't love Manicure, but it seems like such an... odd track to be coming for with such vitriol. But anywhom, would love to see "Brown Eyes" bow out next. I believe it's my lowest remaining score.

Swine and a few more ARTPOP cuts, Before I Cry, Brown Eyes (even if I don't mind it ddd), Come To Mama, etc. You And I has aged as well as milk and I don't care for it anymore so that can kick the bucket too.

Y’all really let this get this far? Clownery. It’s a fun bit of drawma but could’ve easily slid out before some of the other cuts and I don’t think any of us would’ve bat an eye. Oh well. This is another power ballad that rounds out the A Star Is Born album, delivered with gusto from our Lady. Which of you you is going to be the first to lip sync to this, huh? Maybe @Music Is Life? “Please let this be as epic as it sounds like it will. OOOO handclaps! This has an almost gospel feel to it, doesn’t it? It works so well! And yes it is epic! And beautiful!@sfmartin was feeling the theatrics as well “I love the drama of the delivery. Classic early 90s power ballad which I'm a sucker for. I love the towering vocals, it's great to hear her really belt out that incredible range. It does get a bit repetitive after a while though.” And @Sprockrooster was downright moved “So effortlessly beautiful. The absolute vocal range on display. The sheer talent.

@Up N Down makes a reference I’m not immersed in this forum enough to get but maybe you will “the best bit in this song is the first second when for a moment you think Livvi Franc's "Automatik" has started.@jtm says “Quite epic, but hard to judge objectively as someone who never really listened to this 'album' so far” but you did listen to it after right sis? @ Petit nain des Îles did, or at least they might’ve, they don’t remember “I can’t recall anything after many listens but I didn’t hate this. I don’t know…” I won’t hold it against ya. “God I love this corny shit” - @Laura Vanderbooben whenever they fly back to the cornfields of Kansas. @Laurence says “It could be better, it's not as good as the highs we have in A Star Is Born but alas. I don't have a lot to say for this one. I do kinda like it.”

Despite the high drama of this ballad, not everyone was sold on the emotion behind it “Belting without authenticity again, don't care.@Stradiwhovius laments and @R27 hisses “Gaga is doing the most but I feel nothing.@daninternational thinks “The clapping makes it sound like an X Factor 'original'. Basic” and @Alenko follows right behind with “I don't dislike it like so many of you. Sounds like an X Factor single.

@Maki sums up the experience “Another completely uninteresting ballad. I highly appreciate certain moments, like that final chorus with the strings. The outro is really nice, too, but it's really bland as a whole. Her vocals and the instrumental slightly prevent it from being a complete snooze.
