The Lady Gaga Rate (Haus Labs now available)

I remember buying The Fame before it was mainstream ddd and always checking online which songs were going to be released as singles. I remember Beautiful Dirty Rich being scrapped in favour of Poker Face and The Fame being sent to radio in Australia before the label scrapped it in favour of Eh Eh. My youth. The album was littered of potential singles tbh.

He/Him
The fact that Fashion! is still here but Fashion wasn't even included in the rate.

I put shuffle on yesterday and the first song that played was "Angel Down" - that's quite symbolic.
Such an emotional punch and I still can't get how it was out so soon.

Now that we're into the top 50, it's time for "Yoü and I" and "Fashion of His Love" to leave. Both overstayed their welcome.

Fashion!

average: 7.31
Highest: 10 x 10 (@Phonetics Boy @Sprockrooster @push the button @VitaminBee @Mr Blonde @Untouchable Ace @Sleepycat @Remorque @heavymetalGAGA @yeRleDanaL)
Lowest: 2 x 3 (@UncleDeSeanAli @Andrew.L @Verandi

This was robbed. If you had told me during the height of my Born This Way hysteria that the next album would feature a David Guetta and will.i.am feature and that it would be the song that ages the best? Well, that's like saying Gaga would give up on the arts to shill makeup, which would never happen. The absolute decadence of that "I own the world, we aaawwwI_CANNOT_USE_REAL_WORDS_PROPERLY the world" prechorus. ethereaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllll

"I'm choosing to rate the Sex & The City version." admits @Untouchable Ace, well you gave it a 10 so I'll allow it! @sfmartin says it's "A mixed bag. I really enjoy the disco production with the twinkly piano that transforms into this twisted Keyboard riff right out of Digital Love by Daft Punk. The middle 8 is a miss until the ethereaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAL moment. However I wished they left the rest of the lyrics out since they spoil it." Swole @Sprockrooster has it as "An absolute staple in my workout playlist. And basically my runner-up for the 11 in this rate. I feel very sad not rewarding it, but I had to save an other track! Please do not disappoint me PJ, aka this needs to be top 20." Alas. "That piano intro honestly sells the whole song for me." says @Seventeen Days. @R27 was also taken with it "I forgot how lovely the intro sounds. This somehow manages to be simultaneously campy and soothing, or at least until the unnecessary EDM build up in the final stretch. This is one of the few tracks on the album that I like more know than I did at the time of release." @Petit nain des Îles says "The intro is very dramatic in a 2nd gen Kpop way so this immediately appealed to my tastes. I wish I liked the chorus as much as the rest though." @Maki finds it inconsistent which I find to be part of the fun! "The piano intro suggests something different, but it ends up being a good song. Some of the delivery can be a bit irritating, and some really pleasant. I don't know how to describe it... it's inconsistent. The stripped-down is a nice change of pace, although isn't impressive enough. That 'looking good and feeling good' hook is quite an earworm, and the outro is really good. Can't say much negative about it." Inconsistency in a pop song never bothered @RJF anyway. jk! "A cute, elegant, structure fuck of a song that actually delivers on the album's muddled mission statement of melding the worlds of art and pop music? And it's produced by fucking will.i.am and David Guetta? And it's one of the best tracks on the album? How? Beautiful vocals, catchy chorus, and an outro that sends my wig into the stratosphere every time. Made to sound even better by being surrounded by garbage." and @jtm agrees "A bit more interesting than the other Artpop songs" @daninternational shrugs "Looking good and sounding fine". @Ashling92 hypothesizes "This is definitely her take on Bowie’s Let’s Dance right?" @Laurence is not a big fan of this "I'm not a big fan of this, except the campy af live performance of course. Are those credits vanity credits or what? Can't believe she worked with those producers... The song? Could be better and I prefer the other Fashion BY LADY GAGA and not... [redacted]. Also the ending? Fesjin fesjiI_CANNOT_USE_REAL_WORDS_PROPERLY. Not too much now." @Phonetics Boy calls it "Lowkey the only Guetta song I can stand in 2019." tea, right @aux? "Mental to think the rat who calls itself will.i.am produced this banger." @collxtion was struck with demoitis "Subtle, and very very good. The Get Lucky-esque demo with the “fantastique, freak, chic, slayyyy” bit and the Edge of Seventeen intro should have been a massive hit." Never heard that one before and it's a bit of a serve, innit? SLAY!

Two tens, sweets! Not happening on MY watch.

I am shocked the consensus is that Fashion Of His Love is better than Fashion! though, I thought the latter was well-loved here.
