The Beautiful Ones - yeah, if we had to lose a track from Butterfly, I'm glad it's that one.
If It's Over is gone too soon. I would have loved a cover of A Natural Woman from Mariah but I guess I'll just stick with Kelly's. And Carol's now that I've heard it.

I absolutely stan Open Arms. I knew deep down it wouldn't last that long, but am grateful it at least wasn't among the first 10 songs booted out and beat an more iconic cover in the form of Endless Love. This performance on Top of The Pops back in the day, man she's truly beautiful!

I remember watching the Billboard chart show during One Sweet Day’s iconic 16-week run at the top. When they got bored of playing One Sweet Day every week they started playing Open Arms instead dddd.

'Open Arms' is one of her best covers, the drama, then euphoria when the second chorus crashes in and her long notes just soar... Daydream is her best album, I can't with it anymore it's too good.
I'm glad Open Arms was a single in the UK and a top 5 hit too.

"To Be Around You" is the eighth track from "Emotions". Its lyrics were written solely by Mariah, its music was written by Mariah and David Cole, and it was arranged and produced by Mariah alongside David Cole and Robert Clivillés (aka C+C Music Factory). "To Be Around You" was written and produced as a tribute to Cheryl Lynn's debut single,"Got To Be Real", a US top 20 hit from 1978 - a song Mariah would go on to cover a few years later as a duet with Patti LaBelle.
This was one of the biggest rediscoveries of the rate for me. I mean, I've always enjoyed this but while rating the album something really clicked with this track and I ended up playing it on loop for hours - and then added it to my "Mariah faves" playlist (which has nearly 100 songs now dddd). I'm a little bummed this is one of the first uptempos to leave us, but I'm just glad a few of you discovered and fell in love with this, too!

'To Be Around You' has become a standout for me (of the album tracks at least) from the Emotions album the last few years. It sounds so dated, but has a really great soulful vibe I like. I'd just like the clapping on the chorus to be a little bit higher in the mix.
