This wasn't one of the Chanteuse tracks that I wanted out. She always goes all the way off on her diss tracks and Thirsty is no exception.
C'mon babe, can't our love be revived...
Bring it back and we gon' make it right....

The fifth single from "Memiors", like much of the album a collab with The-Dream and “Tricky” Stewart and “Big Jim” Wright. The “remix” featuring Ne-Yo that was released was originally intended for a companion remix album called Angels Advocate that was eventually shelved as Mimi shifted her focus to the release of Merry Christmas II You. There’s so much to love about Angels Cry. A ballad with hope to salvage a fading relationship, certainly isn’t new territory for Mariah lyrically but she does this type of heartbreak so well that even the slightest variation still hits so hard. That’s how I feel about Angels. Is it her best work in this realm of heartbreak we have in this rate? No (but imo it comes close.. more on I Stay In Love later). Her higher vocal register soars in all the right places and the production is a fantastic support culminating in a *tearing-up, gestures to chest* “it just gets you right there” moment. It’s simply #beautiful (more on that later too). Let’s see if it makes you angels soggy as well…
@Uno (10) — "Phew, I'm glad I didn't give up on this album; what a hidden gem (not really because it was a single, but I had no idea) - this is the perfect amount of sappy and emotional without getting too cheesy like she often does throughout this album."
@londonrain (10) — "One of the mysteries of the UK charts for me is how the duet version charted when I've never been able to buy it anywhere."
@Jimmyandroid (9) — "When Memoirs came out this would have been a 10. In the intervening years it's lost a bit of its sheen and I don't go back to it quite as much but it's still great."
@godspeed (9) — "This low-key should have been a hit. This chorus is such a sing-along one. Also the 'prelude' is heavenly."
@Sprockrooster (7) — "I feel like this is a bit overrated on the forum. I do like it a lot and it works very well in the context of the album. But it doesn't hold a candle to the ballads we are used (read; spoiled) to from MIMI."
I think technically we all rated the album version but didn’t have a separate entry for the duet.Is this a separate listing from the solo version? Or are they combined?
