Let's start with this: I think it looks pretty amazing. I'm excited to see how they handle Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch. And of course Chris Evans in all of his hotness as Captain America.
I'm not overly impressed with the trailer to be honest. I have just got round to watching XMDOFP so I'm on a high from that. They clearly cannot top that rendition of Quicksilver.
That's just a rumour. I can't see them clearing out all of the current team. I think they may pull Thor and the Hulk from it and keep them for Avengers 4.
People seem to think it's Tony in the Hulkbuster costume but isn't it also possible it's Ultron? I can't see the term splitting here, I think these events will lead to the register for superheroes because of the destruction which will then lead to them splitting over who agrees to it and who disagrees.
Everyone involved in this franchise goes to great lengths to say how grateful they are to be included, and frankly, I do give them the benefit of the doubt, but I think the general understanding is the Chris' want out the most. Evans because he simply has other interests, and Hemsworth because he reportedly hates the Thor diet and workout schedule. One thing of interest in that trailer is who gets to speak. Obviously Downey, but then who else? Scarlett! Work that global Lucy gross, girl!
I find it super confusing that the moral of the first 30 minutes of Captain America is "that skinny, useless boy over there might be the bravest person you've ever met" and the final 60 minutes is "omg have you seen Chris Evans' muscles?"
Since this is a general thread, what's everyones opinions on Iron Man 3? I loved the first one, the second one was okay but haven't seen the third. Just wondered what people thought of it.
I really like it, much better than the second for sure, it's nice to see Iron Man solo after Avengers.
I thought I was weary of the whole franchise but after watching the new trailer I'm actually excited now! Captain America 2 is probably their best output so far. Then again X-Men Days of Future Past has sort of set a new bar for superhero movies so I'll be interested to see how the new Avengers movie matches up to that.
Captain America 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy were both pretty spectacular, so I'm optimistic for this one.
Guardians of the Galaxy >>>>>>>>>> Avengers. I'm really excited for Age of Ultron though. I think one of the Avengers is doomed this time round though.
I know X-Men aren't part of the MCU but welcome to discuss them in here. I loved Days of Future Past. It's on par with X-Men 2 for me. The only critique I have for DoFP though is that I would have liked to have seen more scenes in the future. I'm still mad at Halle Berry becoming pregnant and stopping us from getting a bad-ass Storm AGAIN.
I'm praying the Rogue version they're releasing is worthwhile. Hopefully it'll give it that little extra future screen time it needed.
Agreed, though as much as that one moment in particular was infuriating, the rest of the film was really good fun so I'll allow it.
Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast as Doctor Strange. I don't really get the hysteria he evokes in people.
