The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)

I'm just a bitty confused about Adam Warlock, I'm not super well-versed in his character but I always thought he was more integral to Infinity Gauntlet etc? Sooo...having him not show up until now seems odd. I don't know what he'll add. But oh well...I enjoyed the trailer. Beautiful gowns.

So some of the TikTok/Youtube movie reviewers started to post a little bit about how they felt after seeing Quantumania and I think we are up for a ride with reviews this time.

This seems pretty low for a Marvel movie. I’m hoping it goes up.

-Edit- it’s now at 61% with one critic review. Does it takes a while for the review s to aggregate?

I just saw it and it has some Love and Thunder aspects that really bring it down but thankfully some really good stuff (mainly Michelle and Jonathan). It doesn’t deserve rotten when Love & Thunder is fresh but it doesn’t deserve a high fresh score either.

Oh and the post credits scenes are great.

Care to spoil us?
One is an army of Kangs (kangs dysnasty i guess - 3 main ones who look very different - one with a very bad CGI costume ) banding together to discuss that “they” (some of the Avengers I assume) have begun to figure out the multiverse and it’s time to stop them. But there’s literally like 10s of thousands of them (it’s like a stadium of them)

The second is a flashback to the first ever Kang (I think) teaching, and then it cuts to Loki and Mobius in the audience and Loki is like “that’s him”, but I couldn’t hear what they were saying cause everyone was cheering so much. I think they said he’s terrifying looking or something.

Pros:
Jonathan Majors
Michelle Pfeiffer
The Ants
Some of the humour
The post credits scenes

Cons:
Modok
The dialogue
Some of the humour
Cassie (she’s not bad but for such a big character isn’t giving much).
Some of the CGI

I'm going tonight. I'm watching it in 3D. I think I will like it (Eternals was my favorite movie and it hasa rotten score).

I have a feeling that reviewers are much harsher post-Endgame when it comes to Marvel.

The majority of them are saying that it was better than the second one but the second one has a fresh rating and this one is rotten. Make it make sense.

The reviewers are very strict with Marvel, for some reason they give them a pass when they stick to a strict, safe formula (Shang Chi, No Way Home). This is definitely a weaker entry but I think there's more than enough to enjoy to make it a "fresh" rated film.

I've noticed that reviews are starting to really effect movies in a way that they didn't in the past. Those Rotten Tomatoes scores are looked at by more than just movie buffs when they debut on Twitter they get huge reactions now. I feel like films like Venom 2 wouldn't be able to to pull in the same box office numbers with such bad reviews as it did two years ago.

Yikes, the reviews are indeed brutal. This could end up as the lowest rated MCU movie on Rotten Tomatoes. I didn't expect that.

We watched Eternals again yesterday as my hubby was convinced he'd never seen it. He had.

It's such a brilliant movie. Visually breathtaking in places. I really need more from those characters.

I saw Ant-Man yesterday and really enjoyed it. I was worried it would look too CGI/green screen heavy but most of the sets look incredible. Seeing the reviews being this harsh seems incredibly unnecessary, it's far from the worst film in the MCU and was a lot of fun.

It was something along the lines of Owen Wilson saying he doesn't look so bad and Loki saying he is.

Can someone explain this to me like I'm dumb (I am dumb) - is there any simple way to sum up what's happened with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I understand there were timeline resets and the studios bought each other up so universes were merged, etc. Am I right in thinking all superhero movies ever are basically now occuring in one conglomerate (multiverse) universe?
