The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)

I know this isn't all that related, but I just got the Scarlet Witch collection by James Robinson and it made me appreciate her so much more than I did. I hope Elizabeth carries on and we see more of badass Wanda the hero and less of Wanda the villain, Wanda the sister of Pietro, Wanda the wife of Vision or Wanda the "daughter" of Magneto. The Darkhold and No Way Home sagas were good too.

(Also feel a bit icky with 'who asked for this' when it's a show starring a deaf characters whose also played by an actually deaf actress which feels like a big deal for disability rep in superhero stuff)
I think it’s just that her character wasn’t particularly well written or interesting and didn’t leave much impression, regardless of the fact she is deaf. I enjoyed some of her scenes though.

Makari for example was a much more intersting and exciting deaf character.

This is how I feel too. Also she has a prosthetic leg and I think it's pretty cool to spotlight a character and actress and allow for some representation that is lacking. I'm hoping they managed to write and flesh out the character a little more. Echo in the comics is pretty cool!
Word on the street is it happened because they want to
resurrect her on Krakoa, to make her a mutant instead of an Eternal

...in order to synergize what they'd already done.
Inhuman but yes, just as forgettable as an Eternal - especially comics wise. It seems like both have just disappeared from the Marvel books.

Just picked up the first volume of All Out Avengers (which I think is now Avengers Beyond) and I do like the story but i had to laugh at it being drawn by Greg “traces characters from porn images” Land doing the art. It feels odd having Thor seen by him. Although I did enjoy the “outfit” Clint wears towards the end.

Rocket always had heart even from the first movie for me: we see his scars in the prison scene; when he almost attempts to kill Drax on Knowhere after being triggered and then his mourning Groot to finally allowing to be comforted and not feel constantly on the offensive…by Drax.

Gunn really knew where he wanted to go with this. Guardians were always my favourite collective in the MCU, and Vol 3 is easily my favourite entry above Endgame. I’ve seen them the same amount of times now and I well up each time, even in little moments like Quill trying to explain to Gamora how she meant everything to him knowing she no longer has any emotional ties to the group. I get goosebumps at the needledrop to them floating down to OrgoCorp in their spacesuits etc etc that opening shot of Adam is so space rock opera camp it’s perfect.

Aside from Chris Patt feeling weirdly off at times (that “kill them all”? I know he’s uncharismatic at the best of times but I was getting dead behind the eyes rather than just lost and sad) plus maybe feeling a little overstuffed and some of the spaceship dogfighting at the end feeling like a real zone out moment that’s hard to track compared to how great the action is elsewhere in the movie — this is as perfect a blockbuster to me as Way of Water was a few months ago.

So I was intending to see Guardians with my mates next week on Friday, and it no longer appears to be showing in cinemas after Thursday (25 May) next week? Didn’t this literally only just come out at the start of the month, why is the run so short?

It’s still showing at the cinemas near me with lots of show times? Maybe you’re cinema hasn’t got it’s showing times up for it yet

I’ve checked Vue and Picturehouse and they are showing listings for other films for Friday but strangely not Guardians? But good to know, I’ll keep an eye!

This. I think that we can say that some characters are not needed in this capacity. Because they weren't done right the first time they appeared on the screen, nor was there a need for a show just about them. They would have done much more justice to Echo if they had put her in the Daredevil show, fleshed out her character more, and give a wide audience the time to get to know her better so they could see her in her own show.
I would like to have characters of all representations that are done right and not just for the sake of it and written poorly.

Also, no one should feel "icky" about having an opinion about TV show characters that has nothing to do with their disability or what they are representing. But ok.
