The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)

So I was intending to see Guardians with my mates next week on Friday, and it no longer appears to be showing in cinemas after Thursday (25 May) next week? Didn’t this literally only just come out at the start of the month, why is the run so short?

It’s still showing at the cinemas near me with lots of show times? Maybe you’re cinema hasn’t got it’s showing times up for it yet

I’ve checked Vue and Picturehouse and they are showing listings for other films for Friday but strangely not Guardians? But good to know, I’ll keep an eye!

I think it’s just that her character wasn’t particularly well written or interesting and didn’t leave much impression, regardless of the fact she is deaf. I enjoyed some of her scenes though.
This. I think that we can say that some characters are not needed in this capacity. Because they weren't done right the first time they appeared on the screen, nor was there a need for a show just about them. They would have done much more justice to Echo if they had put her in the Daredevil show, fleshed out her character more, and give a wide audience the time to get to know her better so they could see her in her own show.
I would like to have characters of all representations that are done right and not just for the sake of it and written poorly.

Also, no one should feel "icky" about having an opinion about TV show characters that has nothing to do with their disability or what they are representing. But ok.

I'm okay with that. I feel like for me, when I see Emma Stone in a role, I see Emma Stone and not whoever she's playing. I want someone who I can look at and just embody the character. And, that's probably going to be a lesser known actress comparatively.

I'm not particularly disappointed that Emma won't be Sue, but...to be fair the exact same criticism could be said of RDJ, Gwyneth, Pratt, and any other number of MCU actors (particularly the rumored Adam Driver, in my opinion...who may be a good actor in terms of emotive ability but I have never found him particularly transformative).

The First Family is going to be some of the trickiest casting they've had yet. And to be honest, I'm not even sure how/why it will pay off. The Four's historical importance can't be understated, but...in terms of what they'll be bringing to the modern MCU I'm not exactly sure (then again, I thought the same for the Guardians).

I admit, I just want to skip right to the X-Men, hahaha. I don't think I have patience for one or two F4-centric phases, I dread wondering what we'll get post-Multiverse Saga...

Finally saw Guardians today and enjoyed it.

Rockets backstory was quite upsetting and did cry quite a few times. Every character was really well written except for Adam who I felt wasn’t really needed in this story.

I’m intrigued to see when we’ll see all these characters again. I know Saldaña said she was done with Gamora but I’m sure we’ll see Nebula, Rocket and Mantis again.

The good thing about teams like the Avengers and the Guardians is that over the years they have had so many different line ups. Rocket and Nebula can easily form a new roster and carry on in some capacity.
Over the years they've had Captain Marvel, Kitty Pryde, Hercules, Ant Man and Adam Warlock among others have been members.

Finally watched Quantumania. I wish I hadn't bothered. I kept waiting for something to enjoy but even Paul Rudd was annoying me. Everything about it was disastrous and represents the worst of what the MCU is capable of. The fact that Eternals (which I actually loved) is regarded as worse is a travesty.

Pffff Lizzie keeps dragging Multiverse of Madness

Speaking of which rumors currently circling that Sam Raimi is being considered for directing Secret Wars and Michael Waldron is writing it.

I wouldn’t mind Raimi and to his benefit, the overall theme of Secret Wars would fit his aesthetic fine. Waldron though…
