He/Him
I would love to go, if only I had the money for that. That would be amazing

Yeah, it's a pretty good video too.

Haha, yeah that's him. He's one of exactly two important boyfriends in the entire show.

What it don't like is cute boys who don't make this video available in my country in 2019.
Here's the International version:

Have this one, it's totally available!

(and it's the best ever)

I flopped hard on PJSC with that! Thank goodness for your 12! :D

I literally had the Que Sera chorus stuck in my head yesterday night/this morning, and now it gets eliminated

I love psychic moments!
The song I had @Music Is Life is superior in every way possible. Hopefully people discovered a new bop.

Like has been a tradition since Popjustice discography rates started, the cover songs are getting rightfully thrashed early.
Well it's going to be a while before we lose any more covers.
I'm pretty sure I passed that final, so let me celebrate by getting out another song (or possibly two)
Today's first eliminations will see 2 more albums take their first hit, as well as another section lose a couple more songs. Some of y'all will be pressed, so don't say I didn't warn you.
By the way, I'm going to aim for knocking out 3-4 songs a day, until we get closer to maybe the top 50, than go down to 2 or 3 a day, than probably 2 for top 20, and 1 for top 10. We'll see if this actually works out though, I just wanted to make sure that's good for everyone.

(I've always loved this phrase, and I like the way they turned it around. Plus, I'm a person who loves to read, and hates when people judge others so yeah. I'm a dork.)

Old Blue Jeans was recorded for the second season's soundtrack, Hannah Montana 2. It was written by Michael Bradford and Pam Sheyne, and produced by Bradford (who has worked with quite the list of people, including programming work on Madonna's Ray Of Light). The song is another one of her "see the real me, I'm a normal girl" songs lyrically, and it's set to a dancey, groovy, new-wavey producion that lowkey bops but also lowkey doesn't totally work. Critical reception as actually kind of positive for this, as AllMusic said that the song is "another standout, a danceable track that shows that this volume of the Hannah Montana soundtracks actually does groove-oriented songs better than the original album did." That's actually the only thing I could find on this specific song. The first time this is featured in the show is in the episode "When You Wish You Were The Star" from the second season, which sees Miley making a wish that she was Hannah all the time and never had to be Miley. This leads to some happiness at first (she's home schooled and it's very easy, she's dating Jesse McCartney, etc.) but then some problems emerge: Lilly ended up being friends with Amber and Ashley and becoming ppular and mean, Jackson became a hermit who lives on a beach, and she has a greedy, evil step mom. Eventually things are fixed, as usual, but it reminds Miley of why she has the secret. I love the juxtaposition of introducing a song with this lyrical content into an episode with this plot, so kudos to the showrunners there, especially since that's one of my favorite episodes. As far as I can tell, the only other time it's featured is in the episode "The Way We Almost Weren't" (also season 2) which is funny, cause that's another one of my favorite episodes. This has never been one of my favorite Hannah songs, mostly because it just didn't hit the right spots for me in places. Sure, it's catchy and fun, but sometimes I need more from a Hannah song. Plus, the melody is extra basic on this one, and even though I'm a whore for a basic melody, it bothers me here for some reason. Still, I recognize that it's pretty good and I like it, hence the 9. But most of y'all really, really didn't like this one.

Let's start with @Entropy (3) since it's the first time I get to include a comment from him: I’m not sure why but this song just grates on me. I’ve never liked it and never will. Completely and totally understand. It used to grate on me too. But I'm one of those people who eventually gives in. It's just my nature. Next we'll go to @M24 (6.5) who makes a fair point: It's not bad, I like the instrumental. But the chorus particulary is kinda boring. First dud in the album. That's very true. Those first four songs...she did that with this soundtrack. But the chorus is he boppiest part. And let's head over to @savilizabeths (4.5) who like me, couldn't deal as a kid: Another song I didn’t like as a kid and still doesn’t work for me today. There’s just something about it that I don’t like. I enjoy the verses but the pre-chorus and chorus just irk me a little for some reason? It’s not awful. It’s fine, I guess? Just not for me I suppose. Unlike me though, you still can't deal today. Like I said though, I totally get it. What about lowest scorer @DJHazey (1.5)? Literally the only reaction I have to this one is 'yikes'. What is that choice production? What is that excuse for a worn-out melody? No thanks you's all around and twice on Sunday. Yeah, I'm not surprised you hate this dddd. The only question I have is...what do you mean twice on Sunday? Finally we have @iheartpoptarts (8) who from her score seemed to like it, but gets a little shady: Because putting on jeans is a super big deal mmmkay. It's a reference to her not being so glamorous ddddd.

How about a live video that was filmed and used for the show?

And why not a few clips from it's first episode?

And here's the full episode!

(You can watch it in HQ if you subscrive to Disney+ which I unashamedly recommend.)

Hey everybody! Just wanted to let y'all know that my write-ups from earlier in the rate can all be accessed here:
Just in case you missed them, and were interested in checking them out.

Also, I just wanted to say: I will be talking about Hannah show plotlines a lot thoughout the rae, especially if they pertain to a song, because I want this to be a love letter not just to this part of Miley's music career, as well as Hannah's music, but one to the show as well (cause where else could I write about all of this?). It's a huge part of my childhood, and something I regularly re-visit, so I hope this won't bother anyone. And to those of you who haven't seen the show but might be interested in checking it out, if you're worried about spoilers or anything, please let me know.

Nice set of eliminations.

Good riddance to my lowest score (4,75) that is "Part of Your World". The production is bad and there are almost no redeeming things about it.

"Que Sera" (6,5) and "Old Blue Jeans" (6,25) are both reasonable and acceptable cuts.
I like them, but they both have something that irks me - "Que Sera" manages to be both catchy and annoying, and those rap/talk verses are not my thing, while "Old Blue Jeans" manages to remain bland and there's something off with that chorus (like some of you already pointed out), somehow sounds so flat.
But they are also memorable to me, meaning I can recall how the song goes after seeing its title, which can't be said for some (or most) of my lower scores.

I literally had the Que Sera chorus stuck in my head yesterday night/this morning, and now it gets eliminated

Same! It popped up in my head this morning.
It's one of the very few songs I've managed to memorize from "Hannah Montana Forever", so at least it has that.

I love this! I feel very educated already.

I can think of another voter who perked up when hearing about an episode involving someone dating Jesse McCartney.

Hi Hazey.

(I literally just did, you know me!)

Oh look at me being low scorer for a change. I bet that won't be the last time either.

@Music Is Life - It comes from the phrase "everyday and twice on Sunday" - it's just something people say to emphasize something.

I can think of another voter who perked up when hearing about an episode involving someone dating Jesse McCartney.
Ohhh okay. Thanks. And yeah, I knew she was gonna perk up to haha. I almost tagged her in that part.
