Something did seem off to me and I've actually wanted to say it within the first 10 eliminations.
Sorry that you have to deal with that now. The good thing is that the average score for all of the obligatory songs will jump.

Since there are optional songs, does that mean that a number of them that weren't eliminated yet should've been eliminated before some of the obligatory songs?
No, the person's scores I copied didn't vote for the obligatory songs. You should have said something in the first 10 eliminations dddd but I shouldn't have messed up so it's fine.

That's great, then.
Also, I assumed that there was a mistake with deviding the points of obligatory by 20 instead of 19 (i.e. leaving a 'blank' column), which would've made even more of a mess, no matter if the participant voted for the optional songs or not.

Oh, well, sorry for not telling you earlier. Good that it's all fixed now!

Nope no more mistakes. Thank whoever for Excel.

It's alright! It wasn't too much of a hassle and it'll hopefully be smooth sailing from now on.

I mentioned to someone the other day about how it's a lovefest in the contests on here when you give someone points or trade points in a round:

"Oh, your taste is amazing!" ... "No, no, yours is. Thanks for the points!"

Then we get to the artist rates and we're all like: "You gave this a 5?! Get taste!" or "Wow, giving that song a 10 is a choice." ddd

I feel like that's cause people pick one song by an artist they're hoping will do well. An artist's entire discography is much more divisive. It's quite the kii though and a whole lot of fun.

On the road in a shakey car but I still wanna get at least one done. It got delayed because we stopped to visit my cousin, her husband and her baby, both of whom I hadn't met yet. Anyways, I wish it wasn't this one going.

Wherever I Go was written and produced by Adam Watts, Andy Dodd and HitmanKTI (who?) for the final season of Hannah Montana. Adam and Andy appeared before as the writers/producers of Every Part Of Me, and yes, will appear again. HitmanKTI on the other hand, doesn't seem to have any other song credit to his name. Weird. Anyways, the song actually isn't on the soundtrack, save for being an iTunes bonus track, and yes this annoys the shit out of me. Would it have been so hard to actually place it as the final track of the album? It's the perfect closer! I'm so upset about it, and have been for years. But nothing can be done about it now. The song is first featured in the season 4 episode "I'll Always Remember You" where it's performed on a talk show. That is all I'm giving y'all now cause that's a major episode and I'm gonna wait for the proper song to talk about it. The song is about moving on and being ready to grow up and see where life goes, while holding on to the past through memories. A very fitting theme for the final season, and it's beautifully sung by Miley. Its well-written, as usual, and I've always connected to the lyrics. I wanted this to be one of my school's graduation songs but sadly, that didn't happen. The series finale is actually named after the song, which features a duet version with Emily Osment, which is the only time they've ever sang together. Now that Emily's doing music again, I need a collab ASAP. Anyway, I will talk about that episode now, so...
Miley and Lilly are getting ready for college, as they're both prepared to go to Stanford. However, Miley ends up getting a movie offer for something directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise where Miley would essentially be playing a sweet southern girl who lives a double life as a spy, and is naturally very tempted to accept it. Instead of telling Lilly the truth - that she wants to cancel their plans to go to college together so she can do the movie - she tried to make it seem like college with her would be horrible so Lilly wouldn't want to go. Lilly of course, realizes something is up, and gets the truth out of her. Lilly is understandably upset, and tells Miley she can do whatever she wants cause "she's the last person she would want to go anywhere with," or something like that. Miley and Lilly drive back to their house and when Jackson talks to Miley, he helps her realize that Lilly had started dropping hints that she wanted to go with her immediately after Miley told her. They have a heartfelt friendship talk, and Miley convinces her to go to Paris with her, where the movie is filming. At the airport, Oliver and Jesse show up to say goodbye to their girlfriends, and after Oliver talks to Lilly, she realizes that what she really wants- her dream - is to go to Stanford and the two of them share a tearful goodbye as Mimey goes to Paris and Lilly heads to Stanford. During during a montage of the two of them, their duet version plays. As the song fades out, it shows Lilly on her bed studying when someone knocks on her door. She opens it to see Miley who says, "I'm Miley, I'm your new roommate." She explains that she realized there will be millions of concerts, tours and movies but only one chance to go to college with Lilly, so she took it. With a hug and an tearful exchange, the episode goes to a collage of pictures of them, and ends. Yes, I cry every time I watch this.
. Anyways, I've always loved the song, and I wish it had done better here. It's always been partly about Miley and Lilly, as well as that thing that happens earlier in the season for me, so I've always considered it an important song for the final season. Since it was a bonus track, I don't believe any critics commented on it, so we'll just get to you guys.

None of you were particularly nice. @DJHazey (4.5) has a weird way of interpreting songs: Something about the title of the song and the first few piano strikes, screamed 'religious experience' for some reason. And no I don't mean that in a hyperbolic way about a song I'm ready to stan ddd. I guess it's not that exactly (well maybe with the "you'll always be with me" narrative), but it's also not very exciting. As I'm sure you realized, you're incorrect. In fact everything about this comment is incorrect dddd. @iheartpoptarts (5) makes an interesting point: I feel like the last season of Hannah Montana must’ve taken itself very seriously. I think this is actually fair, but I also believed it helped them to develop a very strong final season so, I'm not complaining. @M24 (7) gets shady: I can see why it was a bonus track. Any "bonus tracks are usually bad" narrative is completely pointless as I have plenty of examples that prove otherwise. Finally, @savilizabeths (7) sees some merit in the song: It starts seeming like another ballad but it has a bit more punch to it. It’s quite good. The piano is pretty. I'm happy you liked it.

The original solo:

The full duet version:

The scene from the series finale:

And a couple Andy Dodd & Adam Watts co-writes:

(Yes, this may be peak straight boy nonsense, but this song was a huge part of my childhood and Jesse is mad cute. I hope Ms. Poptarts appreciates this.)

(A FUCKING JAM! And guess what? It was an iTunes pre-release bonus track. It shouldn't have been, but it was.)

Holy fuck, I actually forgot this was still in???

It's a bit... dry, n'est-ce pas?
Rude. Just rude.

This is pretty rude too.

Still in a shakey car, so please excuse any mistakes.

The Best Of Both Worlds: The 2009 Movie Mix was written by Matthew Gerrard and Robbie Nevil (writers of many, many Hannah songs) and produced by Gerrard for Hannah Montana: The Movie, and its soundtrack. It is of course, an updated remix of the shows theme song, and was used as the opening number for the movie, with "Hannah" performing it at a concert, then filming...something (a movie? Music video? No one knows) for it. I know I wasn't helping by making this one optional, cause that just made sense to me, but I actually prefer this version over the original. I know! Just hear me out, okay? The beefier production gives the song an added kick, Miley's updated vocals are even better than before, and the guitar solo outro ends the song on such a high. I just love this one okay? @Mirwais Ahmadzaï must agree with me, as he gave this one point higher than the original. I'm not gonna talk too much about the song, for obvious reasons, but I will say that the remix eventually replaced the original as the opening theme song, starting with season 3, I believe. Of the three reviews I found, none commented on the song. Unsurprising, as it is just a remix, so let's move to y'all. Oh except, just a little tidbit: This is the first song we've lost that was top 40 at one point! That's tough to get, not everyone has that.

Let's start with @DJHazey (6) cause I feel like it: Not much different from my view of the original. This is where I would've just had us rate the version we like better. Well, A) I'm a completionist and B) this one was optional so you didn't have to rate it. I think my opinion might make a couple of you mad. @Entropy (8): It gets an 8 for being The Best of Both Worlds, but it's not the original and @phily693 (2): Don’t touch the classic. This is my go-to version. Deal with it. And lowest scorer @AbCF15 (0) made an interesting decision: Might just be me but I don’t notice the difference that much so will use this rating for this one. If you hadn't given this a 0, it'd be exactly 20 places higher. Would it have been difficult to just not rate it? @savilizabeths (5) disappoints me: Yeah, that’s nice. I have no idea what to do with this. Nice? It's still a wig-snatching bop of epic proportions! Finally, @iheartpoptarts (7) gets the last word cause she agrees with me: This is better than the first one. Damn straight.

Here's the bop again:

The movie opening where it's used:

The season 3 opening:

And a Matthew Gerrard BOP:

(Can you spot the Easter Egg in this video? No one ruin it! Also, this is your reminder that HSM2 is the best one.)
