Okay, so I was absolutely planning on getting out #39 today, but...it was a loooong, stressful day, and I'm kind of exhausted now, so I'm going to relax, rest and sleep soon, but I swear on my entire CD/vinyl collection that I will get not one, but two out tomorrow.
Oh, and for some odd reason the HMF album disappeared from my Spotify. Weird. Now I can't bop to "Ordinary Girl"... this is what I get for not having the physical albums. Oh well.

Ordinary Girl was written by Toby Gad and Arama Brown, and produced by Gad for Hannah Montana Forever, and the final season. Toby is obviously a very popular song-wroter and producer, but you recognize Arama, as she had co-written Just A Girl, which left wayyyyy back at #97. She also has a credit on Touched by K-pop singer BoA. The song is a boppy pop-rock mid-tempo about how sometimes Miley wishes she wasn't famous, even as Hannah, and lists all the normal things she does like every other girl. It's been a typical theme of Hannah's songs ever since Just Like You, but it's done so well here, and with another layer added, considering the episode and the overall arc of the season. It's first heard in the second episode of seson 4, "Hannah Montana to the Principal's Office".
It starts with Miley and Lilly walking through the halls at school to get their info to start their senior year, while non-stop mentioning the fact that their seniors. There's a bit with Rico for laughs where he has a small choir announce and sing about him. When Miley and Lilly get to the table, the teacher Ms. Kunkle (a recurring character through the series) says that according to the registry, Miley isn't a student there anymore. After the theme song, Miley is with her dad talking to the principal and he tells him they must have not mailed in her papers to register for the new year, and Robby insists he did...until he pulls them out of his jacket pocket.Miley scolds her dad and tries to hand the papers to the principal, but due to school policy, he can't accept them. This means Miley can't enjoy her senior year with Lilly. Miley mopes about for a little bit, then decides to do something about it. She starts by trying to call the president to see if he could fix it, but he was too busy to talk to her. Then she realizes the principal would probably make an exception for Hannah, so she goes to see him in her wig, and he accepts her registration, no questions asked. So Miley ends up going to high school as Hannah for her senior year, leading to a lot of unwanted attention, from everyone, including a "romantic" offer from Rico. This leads to Miley writing and singing this song in her room, while it also shows her riding Blue Jeans. She talks to her dad about how they don't want Hannah's participation in senior activities, they just want her to perform and be the famous girl she is. She realizes it was a mistake to register as Hannah, and decides to drop out as Hannah. The episode then ends with who we assume is president Obama showing up at Miley's house - with Lilly freaking out - to tell her that her registration is all sorted out and Lilly is shocked to hear that he knows the Hannah secret, before Miley reminds her he's the leader of the country, and Lilly agrees it makes sense. The president then says she'd be surprised what he knows, and calls her Lola, causing her to gasp and the episode ends. It's a great episode, that again shows the struggle famous people have when their in public, and I think maybe is the one that plants the seed of what Miley will decide to do later, and end the Hannah secret.
I can't believe how wrong y'all did Hannah Montana Forever. This song in particular deserved so much more, and it barely makes top 40? Heathens. It's a cute song, with a really catchy melody and a strong performance form Miley. Y'all don't deserve her. Anyways, critics didn't have much for this, with AllMusic just saying it was a "goodbye to Hannah" (which it isn't but whatever) and Common Sense Media said it's about "coping with life as a teenager and celebrity". And that's it.
Y'all didn't have much for me either, so we'll just get right to it. @iheartpoptarts (7) is here for the cuteness: Awwww, this is cute. Yeah, it is. @savilizabeths (8) is especially here for the chorus: It’s a yes. What a sweet little song. I really like the chorus on this one. It is truly a great chorus. @M24 (8.6) made a discovery: This is great. I love it. Didn't know this gem of a Hannah song, as I had stopped watching the show by then. Glad you like this one. You really should finish the show. And finally, @DJHazey (9) takes us on a small journey: Based on the Spotify plays, I just know this is another one of those Miley ballads I'm supposed to love too- oh wait and then the pace picks up and there's speed-singing and it's kind of boppy? Alright, I think I'm on board. I'm happy you liked this one. I'm sure you'll be upset, but with what left before this and what's next, you deserve it.
Bop to the last song to leave from the soundtrack:

I can't believe how much y'all hated this album. I understand it has the least amount of "classic Hannah" songs on it, but it's still a mostly solid, if a little eclectic, pop tunes. It's themes of growing up, moving on, looking forward and letting go, I think are relatable for anyone, especially people who are in transistional periods of their lives. There is a clear "high school graduation" feel that permeates the songs, which makes sense considering the season, and the fact that the songs can connect to the theme of its particular season elevates it for me. Add to the fact it added some sonic experimentation for Hannah, great vocal moments from Miley, and songs that talked about topics previously unexplored on a Hannah soundtrack, and I think you have a solid final album from the show. Y'all really did this one wrong, and need to repent for it.

Rock Star was written by Aristedis Archontis, Jeannie Lurie and Chen Neeman (AKA the same people who wrote I Wanna Know You, which left at #54) and produced by Toby Gad for the second season of Hannah Montana and its soundtrack. The song is a pop-rock BOP complete with a guitar solo about Miley being nervous around a guy, him not realizing how awesome she is, and her listing why she's amazing, including the fact that she might just be a rock star. It's catchy as all hell, both the verses and chorus, that sticks to your brain like glue, or honey, or caramel or a combination of all those things. It's honestly a Hannah classic, and despite the fact that it wasn't a single, got all the way to #81 on the Hot 100. Now, as catchy as the song is, the song is also extremely relatable. I can't tell you how often since elementary school, that I've had a crush on someone, and had all these things I wanted to tell them, and impress them with, and just prove how worthy I am of being theirs, only to just keep my mouth shut and pine away silently, because I lack confidence. This song though, always gave me a small burst whenever I needed it, even if it only lasted for the 3 minute runtime, because I am a rock star! Or I will be haha, totally. Anyway, I can not believe this is out before top 30, and if it wasn't for Hazey's 2, it would have landed at #27. So feel free to be mad at him if you're upset about this. Now, I mentioned there's a guitar solo, so let me just talk about that guitar for a minute: It's such a great line huh? The "daa daa daa da da daa daa" or whatever is so freaking catchy...and also very reminiscent of another song by the name of Scotty Doesn't Know, originally by the band Lustra. It's basically a song about a guy named Scotty who doesn't know that this guy has been sleeping with his girlfriend. Now, I know the song from the movie EuroTrip, which is one of my favorite childhood films (even though i technically should not have been watching it when I was young), who's main character is Scotty, who has a "prude Christain" girlfriend named Fiona, until he's at a party where a guy's (Matt Damon) band is playing, and he plays the song in dedication to Fiona cause it's their anniversary. Anyway, if you pay close attention, you can tell the songs have very similar guitar lines. Coincidence? Perhaps, but you might wanna ask Toby Gad. Anyway, did I forget anything...oh yeah! The song's first show appearance! It's an episode called "Bye Bye Ball".
It starts with Jackson and Miley watching TV in the living room, with Miley cuddling her Beary the Bear (who we first see in "Me & Rico Down By The Schoolyard"). Miley leaves her bear on the couch to get something from the kitchen and Jackson is seen trying to swat away a bee with the bear, completely destroying it. This obviously leaves Miley very upset, and determined to have revenge. She then employs Lilly to go into Jackson's room to find something of his to destroy. She settles on a baseball that was autographed by Joey Vitolo, who played like one (apparently iconic) game then threw his knee out or something, I can't remember exactly. Anyways, she was planning on taking the ball to a cheese grater, but she can't bring herself to do it, so she tosses it to Lilly, who ducks and knocks the ball away, where it hits the disposal switch and falls into the sink, shredding it. She feels really bad, but thinks it may have been meant to be, as it was a simple accident like Jackson destroying Beary. Jackson then comes in, and Miley hides the ball from him. He tells Miley that he went and got beary fixed, explaining how he realized how she must have felt, and wanted to make things right. This leads to Miley being upset, since she destroyed his ball. Determined to now replace his ball, she goes to the Italina restaurant that Joey (played by Joey Fatone of N'SYNC) owns, and requests a signature, which he denies, because he refuses to sign anything since his injury. When Lilly and Oliver notice his daughter's Hannah t-shirt, she reveals that she can get Hannah to meet her, if she gets her dad to sign the ball, which she does. Miley then goes to the restaurant as Hannah, signs every visible body part on Joey's daughter, then asks him to sign the ball. He signs his first name, and says she'll get the rest after she performs with him. They perform part of Life's What You Make It, before Joey ends up spinning her into a customer's plate, and complains that she's embarassing him. They get into an argument, and Jackson shows up. Before this, there was a scene where Jackson tortures Lilly and Oliver because he knows what Miley did and what's to find out what she's up to. Anyway, Jackson stands up for Hannah and insults Joey, and before they leave, Miley spins Joey around and pushes him into food as well. The episode then cuts to them being back at the restaurant with Robby, revealing that she and Joey forgave each other, as well as the fact that Robby was actual the original person who signed Jackson's ball. Then Hannah gets up to perform Rock Star with Joey.
It's a cute episode and one of many that shows the dynamic between Miley and Jackson as siblings. Not one of my personal favorites but still enjoyable. The song was also the opening number for the Best Of Both Worlds Tour, and it worked so damn well, honestly. Critics were postive towards the song, with AllMusic calling it a "glittery pop fantasy" that " "recalls Avril Lavigne's new wave pastiche without any of the faux-punk attitude." That's actually the only one, but it's still postive!
Most of you were positive too, so let me just get Mr. I Have No Taste @DJHazey (2) out of the way: Her "Rock God" I guess and no that is definitely not a good thing. Even though I like that song, this is leagues ahead of Rock God. I'm honestly extremely surprised you don't at least enjoy this one. Anyways, @phily693 (7) prefers the chorus: I hate the verses but really like the chorus, it just feels so disjointed, especially the start. I...think it works? I don't know, it all makes perfect sense to me. @Entropy (7) probably disagrees with phily, and is impressed: Every time I listen to this song, I find it so hard to get the verses out of my head. I’m also impressed that teenage Miley would feel confident fixing a flat tyre on a car, when 26 year old Sam has to get his Dad to do it Dddd I'm sure it's metaphorical, but also that's a mood. And just to make sure, is that how "tire" is spelled where you're from? Because I didn't want to change it if that's the case. @M24 (9.3) recognizes the best part: Relatable bop (not the rock star part of course). "On the outside shying away… on the inside dying to say" is my favorite part. SO perfect and relatable honestly, for so many situations. @iheartpoptarts (10) has an...interesting proposition: I vote we make this Hannah’s theme song in lieu of the actual theme song. It’s always kind of been this in my head. Even though I love both, I kind of support this, but The Best Of Both Worlds has the whole "double life" theme that they were going for. Plus, this is an album late. Finally, we have @savilizabeths (10) who can almost always hear perfection: Yet another eleven contender. This song is an absolute bop. The electric guitar! The melody! The lyrics! ICONIC! How can I put this song into words? It feels like a little explosion. It builds so well. From the instrumental being awesome to the beautiful background vocals. And the soft bridge building into the ELECTRIC GUITAR SOLO! Your faves wish they released this! Beautiful. Wonderful.
BOP you heathens:
Live from The Best Of Both Worlds Tour:
Scotty Doesn't Know:
The scene from EuroTrip:
(I kinda wanna watch this now, oops.)
And Selena's Rock God:
I'd have rather lost something from the first soundtrack, or Life's What You Make It, but I'm fine with as many Hannah songs leaving as possible (except my 11!!) before we get back to Miley.
Oh gosh, what happened tonight? Hated these two eliminations, first of all because there are a lot of subpar Miley songs left (so much from Can't Be Tamed and The Time of Our Lives, ugh), and also considering there are worse Hannah songs in HM1 left, ESPECIALLY "The Other Side of Me"! Gosh, wish I gave that one a 2.

It's really hard for me to like posts like this ugh. First of all, there are only 4 songs left on The Time Of Our Lives only has 4 songs left and two of them are classics, LEAVE IT ALONE.mp3 and second of all everything left from Can't Be Tamed is FIRE and third of all The Other Side Of Me is a BOP.
But yes these were upsetting eliminations.

I never said I wanted all of Time of Our Lives gone. But two songs out of those four are pretty "meh" to me. Re. Can't Be Tamed, you know we have different opinions on that xD. The first few tracks there are deffo fire, but not everything that's left. And I agree, The Other Side of Me IS a bop, but it doesn't bop as hard as the rest of the HM tracks we had.
