I initially ready that as 'the best Hollywood Records album' and was ready to argue ddd.

To be fair, it's in the discussion. If Guilty Pleasure was a Hollywood Records album as I often forget it wasn't, there really wouldn't be anything close in my eyes. Maybe Insomniatic, so that's probably my #1.

I forgot to comment on this... I don't understand why Guilty Pleasure is so well-regarded here, yet Headstrong doesn't get any love! Sure, it's a bit of its time, and it's got a few awful ballads... but He Said She Said, Not Like That, Be Good to Me, Don't Touch, Headstrong, So Much for You, and Over It are all just as good as Guilty Pleasure's highs.

Why not both?.gif

I'm glad the song/album grew on you. That's always a plus. And you're not in the lowest scorers cause you still gave pretty high scores haha. Now we just need it to grow on @savilizabeths.

Ahhhh that makes sense. Well, it was funny anyway haha.

I very much doubt it'll grew on her haha but then she kind of stanned the songs I found more boring. So it seems to me like she just needs to get used to Kesha-style autotuned bops like Permanent December.. only you know how likely that is to happen haha.

Yeah, Headstrong is great, Guilty Pleasure is just better.

And you're probably right. She's locked in her tastelessness. Thing is, she's a fan of Kesha herself.

I also love Headstrong. So many bops!

That's contentious for me haha. I don't know, I should score them side by side to know which one I find better. For me they're about equal.

And omg, then I don't understand why she hates Permanent December and Can't Be Tamed? Weird.

I also love Headstrong. So many bops!

Thanks!! I knew somebody had to love it as much as I do haha.

Guilty Pleasure is better dddd. And its cause she's tasteless.
She doesn’t think Miley pulled it off. That’s why.
She is also wrong.

Okay, I lied about when I'd eliminate #4, but I just discovered that Who Said was actually originally meant for the Bratz? What?!

Their demo is actually pretty good, with different lyrics and it removes the slightly more country-esque elements of the final, though I'm biased and still prefer Hannah's.
However, this did make me wish Miley/Hannah had recorded the entirety of the Rock Angelz soundtrack (which is low-key pretty damn great) and now I want that to happen still, even though it never will.

Well, it's finally time for #4 to go.

And of course, another classic falls.

(This could low-key be the show’s/Miley’s motto. The amount of bad plans she has is insane. Some good ones though too.)

Nobody's Perfect was written by Hannah regulars Matthew Gerrard and Robbie Nevil, and produced by Gerrard for season 2 of Hannah Montana and its corresponding soundtrack. It was originally released as a bonus track for the special edition of the first soundtrack, but it was released on it's own as the lead single for Hannah Montana 2 on May 15, 2007. The song managed to chart at #87 in Australia, #73 on the Hot Canadian Digital Singles chart, #27 on the Hot 100, and #25 on the US Pop 100 chart. The song was used in an unique way for the first time in episode 4 of season 2 episode, one of my favorites, "Get Down, Study-udy-udy".
The episode starts with Miley performing the song at a concert, and she finishes the concert by talking about the European tour she's about to go on. It cuts to Jackson clipping his toenails, and Robby walks in, and precedes to get hit by a nail. There's a letter from the school, and Robby first thinks it's about Jackson, and Jackson tries to soften him up with a compliment about his hair. Robby reveals it's actually about Miley, and Jackson is relieved. Miley comes in, dancing and singing about going to Europe, and Robby mentions he got a letter from school. Miley also assumes it's about Jackson's grades, and when he tries to warn her, Robby stops him and asks Miley how she'd handle it. Miley says "No grades no Europe" and that she'll miss him, but then reads the letter, and says she doesn't know anything, she's just a kid, and compliments her dad on his hair as well. After the theme song, Miley is at school with Lilly and Oliver, and they're talking about the tour cancellation. Miley points out all the European named breakfast foods, and yells "Why are you all taunting me?!" before admitting she skipped breakfast. Lilly says her dad is being unfair, but Miley says it's not his fault, because they agreed that school would always come first, and if she can't get at least a B in Biology, the closest they'll get to Paris is "french toast." Oliver points out that to do that, all she has to do is ace tomorrow's mid-term. She grabs him and says if she could do that, there wouldn't be a problem. Later, Lilly tells Miley they have a plan, to ask the smartest kid in class to tutor her. Miley doesn't like this because the smartest kid in class is Rico, and you know - he's an obnoxious, evil little boy. She gives in, because everyone else in class is pretty stupid. She says hi to him, and starts buttering him up, and says she's just gonna ask him, but he already knows she needs help, if she helps him in another class. She agrees, and it cuts to Miley dressed in a Victorian costume holding a globe while Rico paints. Her wig is heavy, so she falls over, but Rico is done, so he tells her not to worry. She gets up and looks at the painting, which is just of the globe. She's upset, and asks why he needed her, and he tells her he needed someone to hold the globe. When she asks why she had to wear the outfit, he tells her it was just a little something for Rico, and she threatens that she'll give him a little something if he doesn't teach her some Bio. He says he'll tell her the secret to his success, and she sits down at the table. He tells her to open the book, look at the page, then close the book and that's it. She tells him he didn't teach her anything, and he asks if she has a photographic memory like him. She says she doesn't, and he tells her she's on her own and runs off. She tries to chase after him, but falls again. Later on, Robbie is singing one of his songs with the bird that Jackson is watching for his friend, and Miley is on the couch studying. She asks hi to keep it down, and he apologizes. Miley continues to study, but can't remember something and she gets frustrated. She says she can't learn all 206 bones in the body like some new Hannah dance, and Robby says she does pick up on those pretty fast. She says it's cause it's fun, and "Biology ain't." Robby corrects her with "Isn't." and Miley says she's getting a B in English, that's not the problem. The problem is that her Bio teacher doesn't stand in front of the class singing and dancing "Tibia, fibula, clavicle, rib. We call this the humerus and that's no fib." She asks "Why can't it be the easy?" and Robby responds that it's a good question. They both get that light-bulb look on their face, and say at the same time that they thought of it first. They argue, but the bird agrees with Robby, to which he says he loves the bird. It cuts to Miley singing and dancing the Bone Dance (set to the tune of Nobody's Perfect) in the hallway for Lilly and Oliver, and they dance and sing in celebration of going to Europe, after which they walk into their classroom. Later, Ms. Kunkle is talking to them about the test, with the typical test rules. Rico is immediately done and hands it over. Rico tells Miley not to worry cause she can always marry money (which is funny, cause she wouldn't ever need to, cause you know - she's a famous pop star) and Lilly trips him as he walks past her. Miley is thinking about the answers to the test, and starts struggling, but tells herself it's not a problem, and she can just dance. She does the part that answers her question and loudly yells "Mooyah!" in celebration, and Ms. Kunkle berates her and asks if she's sending signals, cause she won't have cheating in her class. She says she isn't cheating, just taking the test, and Kunkle tells her to do so without all the movements, and Miley tries to argue, but can't. She tries to secretly dance when Kunkle is back at her desk, but she pulls out a pair of binoculars, and sets them o Miley, who thinks "I'm dead."It cuts to Rico playing chess by himself and talking out loud, and Miley asks Ms. Kunkle if she can tell them to quiet down because some of them are still taking the test. Kunkle tells her it's actually only her who's still taking it, and that she has 2 minutes left, no pressure, then precedes to count down. Miley looks at Lilly for help, and Lilly gets Oliver's attention, saying they have to distract Kunkle. Oliver asks Lilly if she wants a paper cut, bit my tongue, or nose bleed and Lilly says nose bleed is her favorite. Oliver pulls out a ketchup packet and tells Lilly to lean back cause she's in the splash zone, and puts the ketchup on his nose, and starts loudly saying he's got a nose bleed. Kunkle says they should put him in a helmet, and Miley's dancing and singing in her head, when Kunkle notices her. Miley says she has a leg cramp, and she needs to shake it off with some...dance steps. Kunkle says she warned her about cheating and that her test is over. (Which doesn't hold up, because how could Miley be cheating if she's the last person to finish the test. I mean seriously.) Miley says she isn't cheating, and that "[she] can prove it if [she] can move it". Kunkle tells her to move it to the principal's office, and when she sees her brother, she's there. Miley gets up and leaves, but after walking out of the classroom, she gets a determined look on her face, and rushes back in and starts doing the Bone Dance. Kunkle tries to stop her, but Lilly tells her to give Miley a chance, and Miley keeps going. Lilly and Oliver join her for the chorus and after that's done, she tells everybody to "Move those fe-femurs" and Rico says by the looks of their tests, they need all the help they can get. Miley precedes to show the class the whole song with everyone participating, and before the final chorus they chant "Bone thugs in the house" which I feel like is a reference to Bone Thugs-n-Harmony but I'm not sure. Kunkle says she's gonna get the principal, and Miley says "What?" in disbelief. Kunkle says she wants them to show him that dance, because it's the best study technique she's ever seen, and also tells Miley she got an A. Miley, Lilly and Oliver celebrate the fact that they're going to Europe. The episode ends with Rico saying that the song, moves and her voice remind him of a famous singer. Miley guesses Kelly Clarkson, Lilly guesses Hilary Duff and Oliver guesses Jay-Z (dddd) when Rico says "I got it! Hannah Montana!" The three of them get a scared look on their face, look at each other, then burst out laughing and say he must be joking. Rico says "What was I thinking" and that Miley, the bubble brain, could never pull something like that off, with Lilly and Oliver agreeing and messing with Miley.
Now, going into this, I knew this would be the highest ranked Hannah song. Thus knowledge never bothered me. It's probably the very first thing - aside from The Best Of Both Worlds - that comes to mind for most people when they hear the words "Hannah Montana". It's just a god-damn classic. A pop-rock, dance-ready banger of a song, that's catchy as hell, with an extremely relatable message. Seriously, these lyrics could apply to every single human being on this planet because it's TRUE. NO ONE is perfect. It's a very obvious phrase, but something that's also very easy to forget, and I think we all need to remind ourselves of this sometimes. It's okay to make mistakes. That's what happens in life. You just gotta accept that and get through them, and that helps you learn and grow. It's easier said then done, and it takes work, but it's worth it in the end. Even if it wasn't for the fact that I might be blinded by nostalgia, and even if the production didn't go all the way off, I'd still give this a 10 for the lyrics. Somehow, this song hits harder lyrically for me now, as a young, scared adult, then they ever did as a kid. For some reason, when you're older, the mistakes you make feel like they have a bigger impact on your life and those around you then they did when you were younger and that's scary. So this song serves as a reminder that once in a while, you need to breathe and just know that's okay to not be perfect because no one is. And that's really helpful sometimes. Who knew Hannah would be singing mental-health bops when she was just 14 years old huh? Also, the fact that some of the lyrics could still apply to Miley today, especially "But my intentions are good, sometimes just misunderstood." Girl knows how to put her foot in her mouth but it never comes from a hateful place and I think it's a good idea to remember that. But I'll save the bulk of that discussion for part 2. Now, I do have to say I have one tiny little issue with the song, and that's the vocal production, or just her vocals in general on the chorus. They grate on me - just a little, and it doesn't stop me from loving the song, but I can still hear it. So yeah. Still worthy of being the top-ranked Hannah song, and worthy of a 10 or 11, but the vocals on the chorus ain't it. The song of course, got a live music video, and was part of the set for The Best Of Both Worlds Tour, and as performed a couple other times, so I'll link those below. Critically, not much was said about the song. AllMusic claims that it sounds like a "less-inspired [version' of the shiny, synth-driven pop...that made the first Hannah Montana soundtrack a hit" and Entertainment Weekly highlighted the song as a must-download and Robert Christgau cited it as a "Choice Cut". And that's it. That's all there is.

Now, onto the people who matter and had actual thoughts to share about the song. All good things were said, so we'll start with @iheartpoptarts (8) who factually states: Good advice for life actually. Yes. Yes it is.
@DJHazey (8) brings up a rate I'm still upset I missed: How on God's Earth is this jam not required listening?? It's definitely the first Hannah song I think of and the numbers back that up. That's why I had it in the Disney Queens rate. A definitive track nonetheless, even if it's not her best. It's certainly easy to understand why it's her highest rated song here. @pop3blow2 (8.3) is as usual, on point here: The good: it’s relatable, it’s catchy, & I like the spoken work parts. The bad: Well, her vocal is rough here. Mostly on the chorus but yes. Very truthful comment here. @Maki (8.75) is very here for it all: The intro is amazing, as well as the instrumental, and the rest of the song isn't too weaker at all. Love the message and her delivery. Taste. @savilizabeths (9) will continue to be happy with how this is going: I mean, what can I say? It’s Nobody’s Perfect. Once again, I couldn’t give it full marks. BUT IT’S A CLASSIC! Everybody knows this song. I feel so happy and dance-y whenever I hear this. And if you don’t know the spoken bit by heart then you can’t be my friend! I love the second verse. Also, this song preaches a great message that I kinda need to remember in my own life. Anyway, I’m off to continue bopping. I need to remember the message too. @phily693 (10) makes an interesting claim: See You Again’s younger sister. Total certified bop. I can understand this. They were both their album's lead singles.

Now, onto our 11s, because all three of them actually commented on it. First, we have @Ana Raquel, who simply yells: Always gonna be the best song from Hannah!!!!!! I wanna be invited to your celebration party. @Entropy draws inspiration from the song: If I need to feel empowered, I turn to this song. Makes me feel like I can take on the world. That chorus hits every time. Honestly, a damn mood. Finally, @M24 uses self-deprecating humor as a shield: Probably one of my favorite Hannah songs ever. So much energy and the lyrics are top-notch. I come back to it every time I fail at something (which is pretty often xD). The middle 8 in particular is especially motivating! Extremely relatable I must say.

And another Hannah soundtrack falls. This to me, is the best of the Hannah soundtracks. It just has so many classic songs on here - that opening four track run is probably the best on any of Hannah's albums, and when you combine them with Life's What You Make It and One In A Million, you already have a classic on your hands. I also really love the lyrical content throughout, as it focuses more on empowerment, friendship, and even light takes on mental health with Nobody's Perfect, Make Some Noise and Life's What You Make It. A lot of these lyrics hit me even more now as an adult then they did when I was a kid, which is probably the work of the adults that wrote the album, despite their probable focus on writing for kids. I think that's actually a really masterful way to write, and I have a lot of respect for the people who worked on the album. The production is more pop-rock goodness from familiar names, and for the most part Miley sounds great through the 10 songs here. It's just a classic through and through, and the best Hannah soundtrack out of the five, so I'm really happy it mostly did well. Great taste y'all.

I did not vote but 7 Things not being top 5 is a little surprising to me. Then again, that top 3 is pretty iconic.
It surprised me too. And yes. Yes it is.
There's no way See You Again isn't winning this, is there?!
Hmmmm.....
How is The Climb higher than this? And no songs from Can't Be Tamed in the top 3?

I wish I had voted ddddd.
I wish you had too!

But The Climb is amazing though xx.

Wow I honestly thought Nobody's Perfect would sneak into the top three... oh well, it was still rightfully the #1 Hannah song. I mean, in hindsight I wish I had given my 11 to other songs that underperformed, but I felt that this was the one Hannah song I listened to the most over the years. It's never failed making me feel happy even in the worst of times.

And yes, I agree HM2 is the best soundtrack of the bunch... if you take out Old Blue Jeans and True Friend (sorry, I know you like that one) it's perfect.

These are my top ten Hannah scores (and I'd love to see everyone's!):
1 Nobody's Perfect 11
2 He Could Be the One 10
3 Rock Star 9.3
4 The Best of Both Worlds 9.1
5 One in a Million 9
5 You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home 9
7 Just Like You 8.9
8 If We Were A Movie 8.8
9 We Got the Party 8.6
9 Ordinary Girl 8.6

I guess I didn't do so bad, I think 7 of these made the top ten in the rate too. Justice for Rock Star though, my misunderstood Hannah gem.

I don't think I could pick a personal top 10, but the one we have is pretty perfect.
