So The Neighbourhood are an indie band that I've been crazy about for about a year now. They released their EP 'I'm Sorry' last year, which contained the incredible 'Sweater Weather' and several other stellar tracks (they're all good, honestly). They dropped their first full length album late last month, and I'm just now getting around to giving it a really good listen.

It's a really fantastic collection of dark, moody indie-pop songs. Emile Haynie produced the entirety of it and even spruced up their EP tracks a bit; gives the album a very Lana feel, actually. Their lyrics are quite cinematic as well. Anyways, I'm freaking crazy about them and the album, and I thought others would appreciate, especially fans of Lana. Highlights include 'Afraid', 'How', 'Let it Go', and well, the whole album!

Sweater Weather was my 2012 summer jam!
    Love 'Afraid' too thanks.
  3. I'm still confused why they left their best song off the album:

It's stellar. For some reason I think about Britney singing something like this and it makes sense.
  4. I love 'A Little Death' too, but I think 'Sweater Weather' and 'Female Robbery' are the best pre-album songs, and really deserve to be on there.

    This is very important!

They're incredible, I love their entirely black and white colour scheme and the video for Let It Go is absolutely brilliant.
  7. They released the video for their new single (featured on a mixtape they dropped a few months ago or smthg) yesterday:

  8. I'm obsessed with #icanteven. I wasn't aware they had a mixtape - I love Sweater Weather and Afraid but I just couldn't get into their debut album. I'm going to take a listen to the mixtape, but has anyone listened to it? I'm not sure what to expect.
  9. The mixtape is a bit too boring but not bad because they're still amazing
  10. Whoa, this is unexpected. Late contender for song of the year.

  11. I was going to make a new thread for this, but The Neighbourhood's thread rarely seem to make it past one page. They're releasing their fourth album, Chip Chrome & the Mono-Tones, on September 25.

Cherry Flavoured, Middle of Somewhere, and Pretty Boy have all restored my excitement for their music. I hope this album is just as good.

There’s something intentionally ugly about the artwork that I love; it caught my eye a few weeks back and I listened to the new songs, they’re really good.

  16. Thank you, @Someboy, for converting this into a general thread. I felt weird about bumping a seven year old thread to talk about a new album.
