Welcome to the 2024 Popjustice Eurovizh Alt-Song Contest! – The contest that shines an extra spotlight onto fabulous songs that did not win their respective national finals in this cycle.

Who will join Tamar Kaprelian, Aly Ryan, Bess, and Paola & Chiara in PJ Eurovizh history? The decision is yours!

Our Contest has two parts. You are welcome to participate in either one, or both of them.

PART I: The "jury" section

With over 500 songs, we need to narrow down this pool.

In the next post, I list the 22 countries competing and their eligible songs.

Please PM me with your favorite songs from each group - a maximum of 5 per country.

Your first place entry will be awarded 5 points, second place 4, etc.

Remember, you do not have to vote for every country to participate in this part, nor do you have to pick 5 songs for each country.

You have until Sunday, May 12 23:59 in the final time zone to submit your Part I lists.

PART II: The "public vote" section

Standard Eurovision voting begins on our list of 22 songs as chosen by Part I voters.

Please send me your list of top 10 finalists, and kindly include some sort of indication of the order so I do not mess it up.

The deadline for Part II votes will be Sunday, June 23 23:59 in the final time zone.

Yeah not sure about my wonky calendar choices. So I picked the first deadline because it was the day of the actual Eurovision final and that will allow me enough time to get Round 2 set up before I take my vacation and afterwards move apartments second half of May/first half of June.

I am happy to make the second deadline earlier; we haven’t reached that stage yet so no one is put out.

Since I started this 2 weeks earlier than last year, which had a final deadline of July 9, we can go 2 weeks back from that and let’s say June 23. Thank you!

I liked that one of the Sammarinese songs this year was titled: “Adrenalina.” Nice try! I wonder if I should submit a song next year called “The Social Network Song (Oh Oh Uh Oh Oh)” and trick the audience*!
