Depeche Mode return with their tenth consecutive top ten hit! Only their debut Dreaming Of Me missed out stalling at #33. They have had one chart topper and three runners up. Can this go all the way? They also move into the UK top ten 11-9 this week.

I didn't see this coming. The Jacksons jump 7-3 this week with their first top three hit thanks to simultaneous transatlantic success. It remains stuck at UK #26 for a second week but edges into the US top twenty 22-19.

The video is….. an experience.

Tina relinquishes the summit in the US this week in favour of John Waite Missing You (which moves 54-46 on the retrochart this week).

Tina later covers Missing You by John Waite
"54-46" was its chart run that week, and the title of a minor hit single by Aswad
Aswad had a #1 with Don't Turn Around, originally the B-side of Tina Turner's Typical Male.

It's a small world!

Ray Parker Junior makes it three weeks at the summit with "Ghostbusters"! Meanwhile climbing inside the top ten are The Jacksons, Stevie Wonder, Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears and U2. Non-movers are Miami Sound Machine and George Michael. Heading down are Tina Turner and Cyndi Lauper. It's great that the Retrochart is back, Back, BACK!!!
