This is so Blackout-esque, so naturally I love it. It gets almost too similar to Break The Ice at the end ddd. But yeah, it’s apocalyptic and euphoric and lush and all of the good things. It was originally a NKOTB track (the original is on their album The Block), and the Pussycat Dolls remixed it and added it as one of the many bonus tracks from Doll Domination.

Slice of Life stans, yath, ‘THE SINGLE THAT GOT AWAY. This sl&ys so much wtf. I need a K-Pop group to re-record this.’ Okay I can kinda see Blackpink doing it? Wiiiiig. Sprockrooster continue his streak of serving taste, ‘Amazing. They have great chemistry. Not a fan of that never seem to be ending outro however and that costed points.’ The intro is a bit too long but I personally don’t mind it. Gives time for my hair follicles to breathe. Remorque mentions another advantage to the song, ‘We finally hear one of the other girls on a Pussycat Dolls song and I don’t even care if it’s only a couple of lines. Who is that? Ashley? Kimberley? Jessica? Justice for these three and none for New Kids On The Block.’ Nn, I didn’t even notice there were different female vocals, they’re too processed in this song for me to distinguish them. PCDPG wonders, ‘I like the song and the male vocals but I’ve always wondered who’s talking in the intro.’ Hmm, I think it’s either Nelly or Polow. Speaking of Nelly, evilsin, ‘The fuck? Nelly was one of the producers for this? Guess he was in the run for the feature. I really dig the verses and the outro.’ Hmm, I don’t think so, since it’s a cover of NKOTB’s song. But it is interesting that he only appears as a producer on the PCD version. Filler loves the lush synths, ‘I like the big pool of synths. They sound sultry. Can synths sound sultry? Well these do.’ If you say they can, then they can. Weslicious is also a fan, ‘Quite hot. The seductive delivery works well and I’m here for it!’ Yath at all commentators being here for it so that I don’t have to drag.

Let's surpass 7.0! Sort of...?

Hush Hush – Original Version

The single remix was voted as the superior one. We’ll cover all the mess surrounding the single mix when that is eliminated, but this is cute as an album track. It’s the right time for it to leave. Apparently the vocals on this song (in both versions) are only Nicole dddd. Hush Hush indeed.

(I prefer the remix as well.)

Most of the commentary focused on it being cute/there. Sprockrooster was one of the few to prefer this version over the single one, ‘Loving the infectious of this and the beautiful adlib at the end.’ Slice of Life relives ha memories, ‘I loved this version back in the day. It's kinda flat now though. Poor it.Filler doesn’t particularly like either, but he dislikes this version more, ‘Without the comedy remix, the only bit of this song I'd remember is the bit where they neglect to sing the title at the end and just abruptly stop instead. That used to annoy me but in hindsight I think it's a nice idea to literally hush-hush in place of the lyric. Still, quite telling that the only bit I like is when it ends.’ A mess, a kii, a cackle. PCDPG finds it ‘Not necesarily bad but not really memorable either’, which evilsin agrees with, ‘'Tis fine’ and so does Weslicious, ‘Nothing too special, nothing terrible.’ Tylerc904 is perplexed, ‘I know they amped it up for release, but I was so baffled by this choice as a single.’ Hmm, I do think the single version is pretty single-worthy, but I do agree that there are better tracks that would be more suitable as singles. Remorque also gives it a middling review, ‘Was never really on my radar until the radio edit came out… A nice slow jam. Bit dramatic theaux.’ Indeed.

Aaand I can't find any live performances of the album mix.. If there are any, please let me know!

Not that keen on either Hush Hush teebs. They got decent scores from me since they're serviceable bops to sing along to, but even so.

Glad to see a good chunk of Doll Domination leaving, although I could've taken 'Takin' over the World' and 'Hush Hush' a little further. The former is a decent bop, and worked well as the opener on their second tour.

Controversial opinion, but I actually prefer the ballad version of Hush Hush over the dance remix (not surprised or that mad that it got further), as I find the remix quite... tinny/dated? Plus, the drama of the ballad version is quite amusing. Alas, I'm fine either way.

I prefer the album version of Hush Hush but I'm not too bothered as long as the single remix doesn't get too far.

I find this to be a cute album track, but something about the production has always been a bit off to me. The meows in the beginning are also a choice dddd.

PCDPG comments on the production, ‘It feels like the vocals are drowned in the production’, to which haps has the appropriate response, ‘Hello, Timbaland!Evilsin compares it to other Halos, ‘This is a bit tedious, but still nice overall. Not the best Halo song I know for sure.’ I stan Bey’s Halo with all my life too, hun. Filler, however, does not, ‘Better than Beyoncé.’ Thankfully, Epic Chocolat has our back, ‘Far from being my favorite song titled Halo, a good album filler track.’ Remorque continues shading Doll Domination, ‘This actually holds up really well compared to the rest of the album… I listened to this quite a lot back in the day, but it’s surrounded by drab, so my interest didn’t really last all that long… Oh, well.Slice of Life is not sufficiently aroused, ‘Starts out in an epic way but didn't really reach a climax that I was craving for. It still bawps.’ Sprockrooster is here for the entire 5:24 of it, ‘Queen Nicole is an angel. I love how this track is over 5 minutes long, but does not feel like it's a drag’, as is GhettoPrincess, ‘Really smooth and catchy, one of the better Doll Domination album tracks for me.’ As with majority of Timbaland productions, it is a bit dated, as Weslicious points out, ‘I've always liked this. Very of its time soundwise but a very strong track.’ Nice way to end things off for Halo!
