Love The Way You Love Me

Average: 7.121

Highest: 1 x 11 (@tylerc904), 3 x 10 (@HollyDunnSomething, @Sprockrooster, @Mr.Arroz)

Lowest: 1 x 4 (@Terminus)

This is very cute. I love that Jessica got a line and Melody a whole bridge, she really shines on it. The great thing is that the rate made a lot of people rediscover it. It really is a hidden gem that is easily overlooked.

PCDPG calls it ‘A highlight on the album’ and it’s ‘Kewt’ for Slice of Life. Just like you, precious. It was a nice (re)discovery for Sprockrooster, ‘This has become a fave during this rate. I do not think I noticed it that much before. But paying attention to it, it really becomes a moment. Giving me 'lost single vibes'.’ Filler is also a fan, ‘Funnily enough, I'm living out the lyrics – I never noticed this song before revisiting it for this rate (assuming I heard it in the first place – with the vast array of different Doll Domination releases, who can be sure), and now I love it. I slept on it, and now I woke up. How did I miss those "OOH LIKE THAT"s?’ The ‘__ like that’ parts are probably my favourite part after Melody’s bridge. Such an earworm. Remorque continues the Doll Domination shade, ‘I had totally forgotten about this one. It’s actually quite nice, but I’ve had it at this point…’ and evilsin is swaying, ‘The atmosphere is nice in this one.’ Indeed. Weslicious has also come around to it, ‘I always thought this was filler when the album first came out but it has grown over the years. It may have fitted better on Girlicious' debut.

We finish with tylerc904, who gave it his 11, ‘Doomed to be one of the first 10 out I'm sure, this is my fav PCD single. Despite her obnoxious... technique, Melody getting the middle-eight is awesome. Feels like a real girl group song. The chorus is incredibly catchy and my playcount remains obscene.’

Another Doll Domination track, another Timbaland production. Nn, I forgot just how much he was involved. This song kinda gives me Britney’s Freakshow vibes in the verses and Perfect Lover/Heaven on Earth on the chorus. I do really enjoy the chorus, but the verses are pretty standard Timbaland-esque. ‘Abracadabra, I got to have ya’ is a really good line, though.

Slice of Life is stanning, ‘WAIT THIS DESERVED TO BE A SINGLE WTF.’ Hmm, I think there are other more single-worthy tracks on Doll Domination. Meanwhile evilsin calls out the good sis Timbaland, ‘Timba should've pushed it harder. The chorus is curious, but lacking in oomph. It kinda reminds me of Scream.’ Okay but Scream is much better. Filler lives up to his name, ‘I finished the rest of my commentary half an hour ago but still don't have anything for this song. These sentences are just here for completionism's sake. Okay bye.’ Okay but me during every write up teas. Weslicious is a 10 giver, ‘Full of hooks. Random changes of pace. Great. An album highlight.’, as is Epic Chocolat, ‘An album highlight I obsessed over.’ It’s a Timbaland Doll Domination highlight for Remorque, ‘One of the better Timbaland cuts on the album, but it just fails to excite me somehow…PCDPG is not to sure on it, ‘A good album song but not really special’, while haps affirmatively refutes it, ‘What? No.’ I’m guessing you’re not too keen on magic? Last but not least, Sprockrooster thinks there’s better out there, ‘Kelly Rowland and Freemasons in Work did Middle Eastern better than they did. Let me put on some Truth Hurts later.’

Their singles are genuinely so much better than their album tracks. I mean, the singles are killer and the album tracks are filler.

Elevator

Average: 7.310

Highest: 5 x 10 (@HollyDunnSomething, @Remorque, @Robsolete, @Weslicious, @Mr.Arroz)

Lowest: 1 x 3 (@Alouder98)

There are many articles online saying that Gaga was involved in writing this song, yet she doesn’t actually appear in the credits, but this has her stamp over it. Apparently, SuperStar (also done with Darkchild) was also pitched but wasn't recorded by the Dolls. There is a demo out there of it.

Slice of Life is happy to hear Melody, ‘The non-Nicole parts are really kewl. Breath of fresh air, etc.’ Yeah, she works especially well on this one. Remorque agrees as well, ‘Probably unpopular, but I’ve always loved this one. Not as good as the Flo Rida one (yes, I’ve got my guilty pleasures too), yet I’m instantly swaying along. And it’s amazing how you actually start appreciating Melody’s voice after some of these songs…Weslicious joins in on the Melody compliments, ‘Jam!!! Melody's bridge and the middle 8 are catchy as heck. Love it. I'll even forgive the questionable start where the end of In Person is still playing.’ Nn, this coming right after In Person makes it even better. For evilsin, it’s ‘A very safe and ordinary Darkchild’ and Sprockrooster is meh on it as well, ‘Cheesy. But I like it from time to time.’

Tylerc904 acknowledges the Gaga connection, ‘Yassss GaGa!!! Or GhostGa/GhostwriterGa.’ GhettoPrincess senses that there is something messy about the vocals, ‘The vocal production ruins this one’, which Pecans backs up, ‘The vocals don't sound like they've been mastered properly on this, which brings the whole thing down for me. I like the song though, so it's a shame. I hate the 'stop' part, too. Disappointing.’ Filler has a different take on the stop, ‘I just can't argue with a song where someone says "STOP" and then the music stops. A top-notch pop trope. This is mostly forgettable for one of their non-ballads (when I tried to remember how it went beforehand, I just ended up stuck with the Timbaland and Flo Rida song as one of the most pointless earworms ever) but that does mean I didn't know the "STOP" was coming and momentarily thought my wi-fi had fucked me, intensifying my disorientation and enhancing my Pussycat Dolls experience. You tricked me girls, and I respect that.’

Epic Chocolat praises it, ‘My kind of R&B jam’ and PCDPG joins in, ‘A highlight on the album.’ HollyDunnSomething has a special pet peeve about the song, ‘Annoys me that this song isn't called 'Lift' but still, it's a boppppp.’ and lemonsqueezyy is here for some Melody limelight, ‘Darkchild’s and Melody’s presences are the only reasons for the points given here.’

I’m surprised that this ended up being the highest rated album track on PCD. Justice for Flirt. I like that it’s different from the original and that some thought was put into it. It bops and makes for a great album track.

Filler has a better way with words and he expressed what I’m feeling perfectly, ‘A strange mess. I like the verses and the "OOOooh-hoo yeah, tell me that you DOOOooo-hoo yeah" bit, but then they ruin it by discordantly mangling the chorus of 'Hot Stuff' for no apparent reason. What's that for? There's a half-decent original song here, just release that! It's fine! You don't need Donna Summer! Donna Summer definitely doesn't need this!Remorque prefers this to some other PCD covers/samples, ‘This is actually what I thought they were going to do when I first heard Feelin’ Good and We Went As Far As We Felt Like Going. Take a classic, put a bit of a newer beat to it and have some of the girls ad-lib their way to the end. I’m still happy with what we got though, don’t get me wrong. Made me listen to the original again too. Justice for Donna!Sprockrooster stans for Donna as well, ‘Donna did it better, but I love the added violins so let me give a point for that.PCDPG is not here for it, ‘This is one of the least memorable covers on PCD. I believe Nicole vocal produced this song? I think the vocals are too quiet or got drowned by the production. The same thing happened to Halo and Magic on Doll Domination.’ Little Donnaster Slice of Life hates it, ‘This is such a disrespectful homage to the original’ and haps agrees, ‘Sorry. Sounds weird.’ We turn to one of the highest scorers, GhettoPrincess, ‘Oh hello cover version bop. They really sell it to me and the PCD era was well represented with this song.’ Fellow 10-giver evilsin agrees, ‘Genius interpretation of a classic. Those fucking synths!Reboot likes ‘the vocals in this song a lot’, while Weslicious enjoys every aspect of it, ‘Camp classics performed by camp classics. Here for it!’ Meanwhile, Pecans only enjoys the Donna interpolation, ‘This just feels like album filler. Other than the iconic sample, this flatlines.’
