The Pussycat Dolls

I’m not sure if The Pussycat Dolls ‘need’ to do a tour like this but it sure would be a great night. I’m assuming they’ll still perform their full tour set anyway as the headliners?

Why perform a new song and not have it ready to replay for hours on Spotify?
I think they probably do not consider that a proper reveal/performance of the song, which I am inclined to think myself as well. Do you really want to put the song out there off the back of a 44 seconds snippet that's mixed with elements from other songs? But will they have another platform as big to promote it on the back of?

He/Him
That video of Ashley doing Don't Cha at G-A-Y (and the others doing it solo at various points) easily proves each girl could have half a verse each and it wouldn't take away the essence of the song. They're all competent vocalists and Kimberly is there too.

The performance was kind of awkward to me. The Flashdance homage at the end was fun. I don't know. The camera focusing so much on Nicole only really did make it feel like a solo performance with back up dancers, which I get in essence is what they've always been, but it still felt like for a big "its a Pussycat Dolls reunion!" moment you'd think they'd try to make it clear this was a "group". Nicole not singing much and constantly shouting out to the audience also felt a bit off. That works in a live concert setting but not so much for a television performance. They all look great and move great and the songs are still bops, so there's that.

I am dumbfounded as a casual fan to find myself currently obsessing over this group, having barely remembered their existence prior to this killer performance.

Can somebody please help me with some age-old PCD mysteries?

1. Why does it seem like Kimberly is not a 'full' member in the Don't Cha video e.g. being left out of the chair routine in the third verse? Was the lineup still being decided at this point? During the chorus routine, you could be forgiven for thinking there were some additional girls in the group as well - were any of them genuine contenders?

2. Why didn't Asia end up joining the group? Did she or the group ever comment on this situation?

3. I don't remember Carmit leaving causing much of a stir at the time. Did she leave on good terms? Again, were there any statements of note from either party at the time?

4. The legendary incident of Melody storming onto the stage mid-performance of Buttons is a classic - but again, went relatively unnoticed at the time (I could only dig up a 2-page thread on here and it wasn't necessarily conclusive that the performance hadn't been designed that way). Am I correct in thinking the media didn't pick it up as indicative of a rift within the group? Did Melody ever comment?

5. Whatever came of the entirely new lineup of PCD when our originals, bar Nicole, had all quit? Did they ever perform or do anything of note? Did we ever hear comments from them after nothing came to fruition?

6. Have any of the girls from this line-up commented on the allegations by Kaya Jones?

Apologies for being 'brand new', but I am fascinated by the history of this group and want to pay close attention this time round!

Wikipedia is the first place to start which would give you insight into a lot your questions & history of the group. Asia was never actually going to be an actual member. It was simply a marketing gimmick to have the Doll brand extend into reality TV.
