The Real Housewives of Atlanta (S16)

Now that her and Nene are good again we need ANY content of them together, I always stand by that in few months over the course of the past 15 years that they were cordial/friendly they were the biggest kiki together

Let's not forget it lead us to the (more famous than the show?) White Refrigerator meme

I'm watching the first episode now on Peacock (who haven't charged me for MONTHS ddd) and I kinda like the new girls? Kelli came in hot but I actually really admire her business and how she raises her daughters. We love a matriarch!

Also, they need Kenya. She's the perfect narrator to bridge so many newbies. They better have her back or i'mma punch Andy in his turkey neck.

Anthony Dominic, a real journalist who works with Bravo and NBCUniversal revealed tonight on twitter that he's heard that Nene is pretty much a done deal for The Traitors. NBCUniversal has kept using Nene for the red carpet shows, most recently for the Oscars. I think Nene on season 17 is a for sure thing.

Now focusing on Sweet 16, I noticed how warm Kenya and Brit's interaction was and I'm even more convinced that Kenya didn't mean anything in episode one and likely doesn't even know Brit is mad at her. I've been enjoying the show but I feel like these next few episodes are going to be sad to watch. I fear Miss Twirl was wronged.

If she’s going on The Traitors that says to me Bravo are very much “yes, but not yet”, so I don’t think she’ll be back for season 17 as the pay-check she’ll get for The Traitors will cover that. Season 18 though? Definitely.

Plus, I think they’ll want to see how the new girls perform over the course of two seasons before letting anyone go.

We're only 3 episodes in but this is definitely a much welcomed refresher after the absolutely dire last season. I have no idea how the Brit/Kenya relationship will manage to turn so sour in just two (or three, knowing how much Bravo loves to stretch out stuff) episodes considering the two seemed to be cool during the OI Foundation event.

Gotta say, I’m really enjoying this. So many great characters, funny moments and light shade that only Atlanta can do.

I’m also pretty sold on Kelli and Angela. Kelli has a great personal story, she’s fun and gets bonus points for going in on Porsha on day one. Angela’s little back and forth with Shamea was hilarious and I think she’ll really come alive over the course of a season. Porsha’s “heehee!” made me scream.

Feel like we need to see more of Brit as right now it feels like Mia Thornton fake boss territory but I could be wrong! Plus, it seems like production are setting things up so that she is the one who wants an issue with Kenya.

With that said, it looks like things are heating up behind the scenes. The big feud bubbling under seems to be Porsha vs Shamea. The former posting pictures with Brit (after Brit made comments about Shamea’s children) has pissed off both Shamea, who admitted she and Porsha are no longer close, and now Kenya, who uploaded an IG story with #traitor nn.

Yeah, the show is in a great place at the moment. I'm glad it's starting off relatively fun and light, especially knowing what's coming between Kenya/Brit. And I agree that Kellie and Angela seem like great additions. Most housewives are a bit awkward at first, so I'm excited to see the dynamics by the end of the season. I said earlier that Angela kind of has a Sheree energy, and I think last night solidified that for me. She's funny + messy and I think she'll be a lot of fun to watch.

Porsha choosing Team Brit, if she really is, is so stupid. She's consistently said that she wants Kenya back on the show, but posting pictures with Brit while every other girl is dragging her in interviews is... a weird look. Leave it to my girl Porsha to fumble a comeback that should have been an easy win dd.

I'm pretty optimistic about the season right now, though. Aside from knowing that we're losing Kenya, it feels like we're going to get the right mix of comedy, mess, and big drama.

I am enjoying this but it would benefit from a mini cast trip sooner rather than later so we can really see the dynamics in the group.

I think we have one relatively early on, right after Kenya exits. I believe they went to Nashville.

I think the bigger fumble for Porsha is knowing the comments Brit has made against Shamea’s child and still choosing to spend time with her. The social media post was 100% a jab. People make jokes about Shamea’s loyalty but there’s no way she’d give Brit the time of day if she said something about Pilar.

Listened to some past reunions during a long road trip recently and I have three random thoughts:

1. Peter is the worst Househusband of all time. A truly rotten man.
2. Man…what Phaedra did to Kandi in season nine remains so foul. She was such a star on Ultimate Girls Trip and The Traitors, but the fact that she’s coming back to Atlanta after that, even after time passed, is pretty wild.
3. They undoubtedly have *the* best reunions of the entire franchise. Just iconic moment after iconic moment.
