The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (S14)

It’s true that there isn’t much (anything) happening besides Kyle V Dorit but it seems like this season is for all of us who have been invested in this for several years. Essentially, Kyle being held accountable. And seeing that Sutton is going to throw her hat in the ring too. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Vanderpump rocked up like Thanos in a post credit scene or something!

I think more than ever the next season will be a soft reboot or complete reboot.

This is a great way to put it! This One's For The Girls (feat. Martina McBride) who suffered through seasons 8 through 10 while Kyle ruled the roost.

I swear every single season this thread says “Kyle finally being held accountable!!”. Girls, she’s been held accountable many times over her fourteen seasons. Don’t discredit her castmates like that!

They are falling into that very Beverley Hills-specific trap of focusing on one conflict per season, which is an eye-roll, but I am enjoying the season.

Boz is a breath of fresh air.

Kyle: 'Me and Dorit aren't even close friends'

Also Kyle: 'The way Dorit is treating me is not how a good friend treats people!'

Kyle: 'I know nothing about you relationship with your husband, I see him socially and that's it'

Also Kyle: 'PK is like a brother to me, he's more of a friend to me than Dorit is'

I genuinely fear Kyle is just so far removed from reality at this point she can't keep track of her own web of lies.

I thoroughly enjoyed this week's episode. Boz, as others have mentioned, has been a great addition to the cast. Kyle protesting so much about the damn text message and then having a temper tantrum, turning on her white woman tears and running away was so stupid. All she knows is to paint herself as the victim in every situation, even when she's caught out. Oh she's having a tough time, her life is in tatters etc. Okay? That doesn't exonerate from being a liar and a maniputator. Both things can be true and happen at the same time.

I am so happy that none of the women ran after her telling her to stop. She kept looking back to see if anyone was following her so she could have her moment. Weirdo. I also wish they would break the fourth wall a bit more on this franchise. Why is production such a taboo word? At least with SLC and OC, they lean into it and gives the scenes a lot more levity.

The gall Kyle had to say to the other women they should be ashamed of themselves for the way they're acting reagrding this text message. This is the same woman to led the charge against LVP about a fucking dog and when LVP told her she was going through a hard time, you know what with her brother's suicide and all, Kyle's response was 'Yeah, we're all going through a lot!'

It was nice to see Dorit and Garcelle have a moment together. I sincerly hope there is a way forward for them both because their tension can be fun to watch but it creates such irritating cracks in the group. Dorit clocking Erika for being on the fence and not calling it how she sees it was just what was needed. The hangover of the Flop 5 is still so strong, it feels like Erika, Dorit and Kyle are one group and Sutton, Boz and Garcelle are still on the outs. I need Erika to lean in a bit more and not be afraid of calling Kyle out on her shit.

I really wouldn’t mind Erika leaning in to be the glue of this franchise going forward.

I hope that when it comes to Dorit and Garcelle, that not only her budding relationship with Bozoma but also the climate of her divorce have helped her to better amplify the magnitude of the hurt that Garcelle's had to endure.

The thing about racial tensions is that when well-intentioned white people learn to evolve past being "nice" and thus learning the depth of the value in being "kind", is that that humanization really does leaps and bounds in how you're received by people around you. Garcelle didn't ever hate Dorit, but she knew the discomfort and harm in her microaggressions. It's unfortunate that it took an impending divorce to create shared ground for them, but in feeling hurt, I hope that Dorit has better examined how to be tonally present for others now that she wishes the same for her.

I love watching this and hope that bridges are meant to be made.
