I would guess Kathy is filming for season 2 of Paris In Love, especially since Paris just had her baby. In fact I think Paris becoming a mother is going to deter Kathy from doing much more than a guest spot or two on RHOBH this year. Maybe we'll get a sit-down with Kyle and Kathy to discuss their issues/"moving forward"/"being sisters" but that's about it.
Part of me feels Kathy doesn’t want to be known as a ‘Real Housewife’ like it’s somehow beneath her (it is haha). She had been asked pretty much since the beginning of BH to be on it and always refused I think she’s happy to be a part of it, but not necessarily PART of it. The fan reaction to her has probably spurred her on to film more.
I don't see how Kathy would benefit from any more time on the show as a Friend, I'd rather the S12 reunion was her final act tbh besides some cameos down the line.
I guess I just assumed Rinna being let go was in some way to make room for a potential Kathy return next season? Not that it was the primary motivator but I'm sure the reception Kathy received online + at Bravocon impacted the decision in some capacity, and she'd be more apt to return knowing Rinna is gone.
I think Rinna’s exit was less about Kathy and more about how expensive she was (and she was due for a big raise), the fact that she was terrorizing production and fans were done with her.
The show has had a major comeback in recent years, but it isn’t because of Rinna. Then you have Garcelle, Sutton and Kathy as new fan faves, Dorit gives us comic relief and Kyle produces. They really don’t need Rinna anymore.

Also, Rinna and Erika were concocting storylines together in the background, making some of their filmed interactions so odd. "You need to stop drinking." / "I know." And it could have been fine had Garcelle not accidentally wrecked their build-up by criticising Erika for her drunken shenanigans on the boat.

I know we rat the rat and her stint faltered in her final few season of RHOBH but...
I was rewatching season 5 and she kinda served at the reunion when she gagged Lisa Vanderpump with the reveal.
Also Kathryn, deserved another season. She might've been slightly apprehensive to play on her debut but she felt like a good potential housewife.

I just rented Garcelle’s new movie Black Girl Missing and I feel sick. I wasn’t expecting it to be as good and as authentic as it was. It was such a sad movie, but very true to what happens when a Black girl goes missing. Even the way Garcelle was portrayed and how she dismissed her kids mental health concerns felt very accurate for people her age.
I give her props for doing such an impactful film! We need more stories like this and I’m glad she brought it to light. I hope it gets a mention on the new season because we can’t hear enough about this subject which is lately ignored in the US.

I hope (and assume) Crystal wouldn't use weight and body image as a way to take someone down. I think it'd be Garcelle or Sutton mentioning it as a joke then Kyle turning it into her storyline.
