Rinna was phoning it in those last few seasons. I’d rather a boring season than another season of her manufactured drama. She was beyond due for a rest. They need to revamp the alliances and find a new source of drama.
Definitely in Beverly Hills, I think across all franchises that’s a lofty claim…
While I agree with this, the sheer catharsis of Kathy storming the [otherwise very dull] reunion was spectacular. It was also the only time the trailer for something Beverly Hills related actually lived up to the teaser.
"Whitney and Heather - Bad Weather. Tornado, spin the truth, destroy!”
I had a thought the other day that the downfall of BH happened because Bravo started to get lazy with casting. They allowed the likes of Teddi, Eileen (sawry!), Kathryn, etc. to come on to the show and be boring without much repercussion because Rinna and LVP would pick up the slack by spinning often dumb storylines. Kyle, Erika and Dorit fell into their stereotypes by this point and delivered next to nothing unless the Lisa's prompted something. This inadvertently caused LVP to spin herself into the tizzy that was season 9, and then by the time she was gone Rinna was sick of carrying the show on her back and turned on Denise at the first sniff that she wasn't being real and earning what I'm sure was a huge paycheck on her name.
I actually understand Rinna's frustration, but the subject they picked Denise apart for was a huge mistake. We don't need to relitigate season 10 though so let me relax, but I ultimately think Bravo letting these women get away with so much nothingness without demoting/firing is what led to the downfall of this show. Sutton/Garcelle/Tom Girardi/Kathy gave us something the last two years but its time to get a little more trigger happy with the casting if people aren't playing ball.
