I'm about 5 or 6 episodes into season 5 and does Julia always feel like an outsider? In one respect, I feel like she offers something so different to the typical 'housewife' (which in itself is very refreshing) but on the other hand, she seems like she doesn't fit in with them at allll at times.

Julia starts settling into her Housewives role by S6. Again, I fully understand why people have their issues with Julia given Martina's outspoken transphobia. But, in isolation, she definitely grew into her Housewives role this season - talking behind people's backs but also to their faces; carrying bones throughout the cast; forging friendships outside of her bestfriendship with Adriana; and delivering a compelling storyline with the aftermath of Martina's cancer diagnosis.
If her wife wasn't so awful, I would've almost started stanning her this season based on her performance because it really was pretty strong.
I also completely forgot what a slay Feel The Rush is... the cuntiest little bop. Tied with Tardy for thee Party as my favourite Housewives song.

It's never been fully explained, but I think the show just has too many people and they don't focus a lot on their personal stories. Kiki also is a main character in season 6 and they all get their ending cards or whatever, and all look to be at the reunion the entire time. The Miami friend-ofs are definitely treated as a higher role than any other franchises. I think they deserve title credit sequences somehow!!!

The way Adriana got like A LOT of personal content this season though and like every party was about her im crying. She's definitely main character but I get not having 8-9 mains

Marysol is awful and is in the role she deserves, and Adriana was completing a master's degree at Harvard when season four began filming and wasn't sure if she'd be able to film at all so she took a Friend Of role to stay flexible. The roles have just stuck since, and I think that works for at least one of them.
Adriana & Julia have particularly bad microphones, it's so crunchy.

This is actually not fully true. Adriana filmed full time on season 4 despite the masters degree, though she thought it may complicate things at first. she also filmed the intro, everything. The final cast decision was made by production and Brave before the announcement. She believed she would be made full time again on season 5, she wasn’t.
