The Real Housewives of New York

I think they’re more likely to bring back old cast members instead of outright cancelling it. But then again, this whole situation is so embarrassing that I could see them wanting to pretend it never happened. I think they’re better off ending it at this point because they’ll never recreate that magic again.

Andy was asked about the new season and couldn’t even fake a decent response. Said they’re all very fashion forward and argue over silly things.

I’ll probably watch it at some point but I genuinely think it’ll be a PR disaster, ratings wise. Fan reactions will be overwhelmingly negative too which will make it all seem way worse and dramatic in traditional housewives fashion nn.

I thought it was officially stated it’ll be a shorter show and not a regular full season? My guess is 8-10 episodes. The low guarantee could be so they have an out to demote someone if they don’t perform.

Yeah, with only 5 girls it's gonna be hard to demote anyone though dd. If the cast is really just Dorinda, Sonja, Lu, Jill, and Kelly, they all need to deliver.

This is the mistake I think Bravo is making. It feels obvious to me that people would be willing to give the new flop RHONY a chance if we knew that Legacy was coming, too. But when the feeling is that our OGs have been kicked to the curb, low-balled, and potentially entirely scraped... why on earth would we want to support the new iteration?

The approach on all this is definitely doing them no favours. I always felt they were just giving the OG NYC a backdoor cancellation and trying to use Legacy to smokescreen it but this all feeling so up in the air will absolutely impact the NYC reboot.

Viewers would be a lot more charitable if they thought Legacy was 100% happening.

They went into this treating it as a consolation prize, and that's what it feels like. Like they're throwing a bone to the fans and the women... as long as the bone isn't too expensive! At this point they'd be better off doing an UGT: RHONY series. Give us two 8-episode seasons each year with slightly rotating casts (keep Dorinda, Lu, Sonja and Jill as the main girls each season with 2 others rotating). It'd be easier to get certain cast members to return if they know it's for a limited filming schedule.

Season 1: Hawaii (filmed late Spring)

Dorinda
Lu
Sonja
Jill
Kelly
Tinsley

Season 2: Berkshires (filmed in early December)

Dorinda
Lu
Sonja
Jill
Aviva
Heather

Season 3 (filmed at a ski lodge in Aspen)

Dorinda
Lu
Sonja
Jill
Ramona
Alex
