The Real Housewives of Orange County (S18)

Anyone thinking Gretchen could take down Tamra clearly forgot how that went the first time around... You're on the wrong Fun Bus! #TeamTam

Perfect! She has no integrity as a QAnon nutjob so she will stop at nothing to create great entertainment for us! I'm ready to put my Gretchen Christine jewelry on, which will stain my skin a horrific shade of green, and stan! Fuck MAGAts and let's enjoy their soul rot on reality television.

This is exactly it. Like we all know what we're getting into, why are we acting brand new about enjoying the endless tiny humiliations these women will endure for our enjoyment?

Call me crazy, but I just finished watching Season 15 for the first time, and I actually enjoyed it. I can absolutely understand why it was universally hated when it first aired back in 2020, but now that enough time has passed since COVID, it was quite interesting to watch the show as the pandemic first unravelled. It feels like a real time capsule.

I’m impressed by how the producers managed to make nearly ten episodes out of only four weeks of filming before the first lockdown, but somehow, I didn’t feel like a slog. The biggest issue was Braunwyn. I would never dismiss someone’s journey with sobriety, but having every single scene with her be about alcohol was beyond exhausting. I also feel icky knowing how her divorce with Sean ultimately played out and how even some of her children had an issue with her. It’s a shame as I’d love to root for a seemingly progressive and queer cast member, but nothing about her came across as authentic.

I also feel like Elizabeth didn’t really get a fair chance to shine, and I would’ve liked to see her come back as a friend-of for one more season, even if she wasn’t a great fit with the rest of the cast as a whole.

First-time watch update: Mid-way through season four, and my main takeaway is that Jeana and her family are putrid. Just awful, awful people. The way her children speak to her is vile. I’m looking forward to Tamra throwing her cyst and deceased in her face.

Vicki is batshit insane and amazing television. I’m excited for the demise of Tamra and Simon’s marriage. Gretchen is both hilarious and highly annoying. I do feel for her with the whole Jeff situation, despite the questionable optics of it all. His kids seem like sweethearts.

The randoms that have come and gone so far are such a fascinating mix of boring and wacky. Lynne is…out there.

Apologies for the double post and blasts from the past…but Lynne is such a loser. Coming at Gretchen for trying to talk to her daughter Alexa about the fact that she keeps openly sobbing about how she’s depressed/thinks her family ignores her?! All Gretchen was saying was that she would be happy to be an outlet for Alexa and that she didn’t want to see her turn to drugs/alcohol and getting into trouble…only for her to do exactly that for years to come. Another loss for Lynne! Justice for Gretchen!

Side note: The way every young adult on this show is awful is almost impressive. Looking at you, Ryan!

I am six episodes into season 16 and everything about Noella comes across as rehearsed and unauthentic… yet somehow I am finding her insanely entertaining and the best thing about this season so far. Does Dr Jen end up doing anything or did they just flat out give her the orange?

They should have given the other Orange to TwennyMinuteGorwl Nicole

A couple of her scenes are the best of the season.

The one gag about Dr. Jen honestly is that
she is a mirage; a concept that never existed or had tangible form. Merely an idea. Like her lame husband's shirt.
