  2. Is this different to the original single version? I’ve never seen Priscilla

  3. Very eclectic collection! A lot of the usual suspects but I will pick this up for Stacey Q, Kon Kan and the Dollar 12" remix.

  4. What a bizarre collection. Having songs like Remedy and I Believe In You among songs 20 years older will surely be a bit jarring.

  5. Never bought those before but I actually really want that synthpop collection, it's bonkers diverse and looks like a fun thing to throw on shuffle. Anyone have a link to buy from the US?

  6. Sonia a Synth Pop Anthem. Who knew!

  7. That compilation is crazy but I might get it for some of the rarer treats. I love that Comeback Corner icon Mandy is included WTF. Haha

  8. It’s available to import from Amazon UK.

  9. I say it all the time but it's so iconic that stuff that was deemed flash-in-the-pan / 'for kids' 'crap' like Sonia, Mandy, Technotronic or even Sandra and Modern Talking are still played in 2019, respected with new ears, with a whole new generation loving them (I've seen crowds of hip twenty somethings go NUTS for Stacey Q, E.G. Daily, Cover Girls tracks in Berlin) while stuff that was thought of as 'proper music' back then like The The, Big Audio Dynamite, Living Color (while amazing) etc are largely forgotten.

  10. Vasilios speaks my truth ^.

  11. Fairlight erm, moog erm, Korg, erm? The Mersey!

  12. Synth pop anthems. Not even one Depeche track. Fail.

  13. They don't allow their songs to be used, do they?

V3RYP05H, biffy77 and nnnumb like this.
  14. I’m sure I have them on some compilations but they do seem to be a regular omission. No Soft Cell either though. Or Pet Shop Boys.

As ever I think you need about 20 of these sort of collections to be able to compile a satisfactory one of your own.

  15. I can't see any You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)!? I mean, where is You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)!? It says 'compilation' and yet no You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)!? It can't possibly be a compilation if there's no You Spin Me Round (Like A Record), so is this a new type of thing? What should we be calling it? Is this a Group of Songs? If there's no You Spin Me Round (Like A Record), has it gone AWOL!? Perhaps we should contact the authorities and file a Missing Classic Report. When do we invoke the Burns International Treaty? First it's so-called 'Brexit,' now the total erasure of You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) ...whatever next, climate change!? Nostradamus warned us of this, but in all my years I never thought I'd live to see the day! The impending sonic apocalypse is upon us.

Was so looking forward to hearing it in CD quality as well.

  16. Has anyone purchased the 30th Anniversary Edition of Cosmic Thing? I need PJ reviews!

New release day is not the same without Anfunny...

  17. Yes but not even opened, despite it arriving early on Wednesday. Will give it a listen this morning but going away for a few days later.

  18. Like 'Amazon Music' playlists. 'Alexa' play 80s pop, lots of goodies but Ed Sheeran & Ariana Grande might be a little 'out place'. Play '90s Dance Classics', we get the ballad version of 'My Heart Will Go On' & 'Wonderwall' Oasis thrown in to throw you off.

  19. Anyone see the Janet Jackson set at Glastonbury?, she is being slated for miming etc, I watched it .. it wasnt brilliant but she did cover a lot of stuff.. and it was hot etc.

I now know for sure we need a reissue campaign.... etc

nnnumb and Eric Generic like this.
  20. How come 30 years later everyone loves 'Rhythm Nation' (the song)? Lauren Laverne said she hoped Janet played it and sure enough there it was as the final number.

I bought it on 7" back in November 1989 and was disappointed when it only managed to make number 23 in the UK charts. Most of her other singles from that era failed or barely scraped into the top 20 but Rhythm Nation was the only one I had to have.
