The Reissue Thread!

Does anyone know if the 12'' Versions of Lion Sleeps Tonight and Fantasy Island have ever been on CD?

 

I tried posting it in my post a couple of times yesterday and it just left a blank space. I'll try it again...

I am looking forward to the Anything Is Possible re issue must admit, very impressed with the first two Debbie re issues all round.

 

Oh crikey, a 12 of Fantasy Island.. the best ABBA pastiche I can think of.

 

Its not showing on their website. I wonder if it will appear again on 1st January once their festive sale has ended?

 

Conflicted about whether I want this or not. I'd like to hear if the 'remix' can improve the original. But it's such a terrible album I doubt anything could salvage it.

This year is all about Madonna as far as reissues go, but beyond Her, there's still so many exciting possibilities, some I'm continuing to hold out for after years of hoping, and some that are more likely.

More Prince (of course), George Michael (as long as his Estate aren’t involved), Amazulu (still),
Feargal Sharkey (still), Dead Or Alive (still), Jody Watley, Terence Trent D’Arby/Sananda Maitreya, Grace Jones, Princess, Whitney... the list goes on.

And as the early '90's moves further into history, some of what that had to offer is worth a dusting off - Kenny Thomas, Innocence, Kim Wilde, Diana Ross and of course Dina Carroll, who deserves nothing less than the full super deluxe treatment, a la...

How can we manifest this? And can we schedule a campaign for her other albums while we’re at it?

 

I'm looking for answers on the Scritti Politti, Anhomie & Bonhomie and Cupid & Psyche 85 CD re-releases. Both were meant to be released in the summer but were delayed. I ordered them online and found out in November that Anhomie finally got released but still no sign of the other. I can find zero information online about the delay or whether Cupid is ever getting released at all. My order is stuck until I make a decision on it and wondered if anyone could help at all? It's really strange for CD releases to get held up like this

 

Rough Trade Records' own web shop has it as release date TBC. Maybe worth dropping the label an email?
