The Reissue Thread!

It's 'Everybody' (40th Anniversary).

SpecialRelease | RECORD STORE DAY

The cover is sooo good !!! Thanks a lot ! So, from Danceteria to Everybody ?
So, it's s "newly remastered": can we assume the reissue campaign is starting with debut album ?

Alanis releasing a cassette for RSD ! No efforts if it's not a JLP re-re-re-release...
Fleetwood Mac description is amazing:
This collection features rate alternate Fleetwood Mac tracks from 1975 – 1987. Previously released individually for Record Store Day and RSD Black Friday events on vinyl, they will now be together in one set on colored vinyl or a CD boxed set.

yesterday it was a 6CD boxset... there must be A LOT od RSD releases to fill 6 cds ! Lol !

They still say Fleetwood Mac is a box set, both the CDs and the vinyl, but they have removed from the description how many discs. I´m not familiar enough with their previous Record Store Day releases to figure out what exactly is going to be included or how many discs to expect.

She hates them apparently. I hope this doesn't mean they are left of the Madonna/The First Album' Deluxe.

I would not call myself a Madonna but anymore but super excited for Madonna fans with all these releases coming and it is encouraging to see Madonna's early and best work (IMHO) being highlighted.

I am hoping her albums from 1983 - 1998 all get comprehensive super deluxe editions. I would love to see each album released in a hardback cover like the a-ha Hunting High And Low boxset from 2015 with each set containing:

The Original Album
The Demos
Singles, Extended Versions & B-Sides
Alternate Mixes / Promotional Mixes
The Videos

Beginning with Madonna - Madonna with its original cover.

I really hope Madonna and her team put their heart and soul into the reissues from her earlier work ('83-'98) as for a lot of people including myself, this is the Madonna I love. I have so many incredible memories associated with these songs and they need to be celebrated in all their glory.

This would well and truly be an amazing concept if were to happen. Most interested in about those 1st 15 epic years too. Let's hope Madonna and her team pull it off.

The a-ha deluxes are a dream and reissue goals tbh. They literally gave us everything. I suspect that's more to do with a-ha taking care of their own music / catalogue (I can imagine there being a-ha HQ in Norway with everything in the vaults) than Warner being great but let's remain optimistic.

#Thriller40 update
She's trouble [demo?]
The songwriters, Terry Britten, Sue Shifrin and William Livsey, gave this song to Quincy for consideration on Thriller. Although Michael demoed the song, it didn’t make the album and the songwriters then gave the song to other artists to record and release. This is the first time Michael’s demo is being released.

Song apparently demoed in 1981 and later recorded by British band Musical Youth in 1983 (#65 in Billboard Hot 100). Scott Baio released it, too, in 1983.

Terry Britten is quite an well known songwriter from the early 80s, so surprised it was turned down. At least more rarities look like will be included.

I really don't remember this Musical Youth band, but the song kinda flopped in US and UK. Ok, maybe the MJ factor could have pushed it to #1, btw, this is the song recorded by the band

There certainly are. Another artist who have delivered outstanding deluxe editions is Tear For Fears. The super deluxe editions of the first 3 albums The Hurting, Songs From The Big Chair and The Seeds Of Love are all incredible. I only hope other artists and their teams use these examples for future super deluxe editions of some of the beloved released in the 80's and 90's.

It is time the Wham! back catalogue received such love. 3 individual boxsets for Fantastic, Make It Big and The Final containing the following:

The Original Album (LP version)

An individual CD for each single containing all the edits/mixes/promo mixes including the Club Fantastic Megamix and Wham! U.K. Mega Mix US 12" Promo

DVD Content:
Fantastic: Live at the BBC
Make It Big!: Live at the BBC and Wham! In China Foreign Skies
The Final: Live at The BBC and a DVD with all their videos including alternate and extended promo videos

I'd certainly buy Wham! re issues as good put together as these! The original albums are in badly need of a remaster to start of with as it is.
