The Reissue Thread!

140 quid? I'd expect Freddie to rise from the grave and deliver it for that price.

If you compare it to the Older boxset, that costed that same, it's a bargain ! There's a dvd/blu ray that GM didn't have ! (are there 2 different editions, one with dvd one with br, or are you getting both ?).
I frankly can't get cd5, but I'm not a fan

You expect a lot ;) Crazy pricing these days - the bizarre thing is the 2CD set, the second disc is The Miracle Sessions, which is what everyone wants. Theyve torpedoed the box set already!

Think what I'll do is get the 2CD, then combine what's on that with the other Miracle-era stuff I've got and make an expanded deluxe of my own (again).

So, here is it!

#Thriller40 update
Sunset Driver
This was another song Michael originally wrote for the Thriller album. Although Michael also considered it for Bad, he never finished it but released it as a bonus track on The Ultimate Collection in 2004. It was also one of the songs featured in the Ubisoft game, “Michael Jackson: The Experience.” The mixer on the original 1982 demo was Bill Bottrell who would go on to co-produce tracks on Michael’s Dangerous album

They say Sting didn't care about reissuing his solo albums ! They are wrong !
You get the album, the bsides, some instrumentals and the remixes ! What more can he give ?

Yep digital-only though again, just like The Soul Cages was. Of course this comes out barely a year after I hunted everywhere for those B-sides.

Are there any Sharon Redd fans here? Any comments on the Deepbeats reissues of her work versus the Unidisc ones?

Oh yes. Redd Hott is in my top 3 albums of all time.

the Unidisc reissue of that album has longer, previously unreleased versions of some tracks. The 2fer Deepbeats release has the original album versions and also includes her debut. I have both but tend to play the Unidisc more. Unidisc one is a bit hissy but sounds more dynamic for it without too much noise reduction.

Love How You Feel is better on Unidisc. The bonus cuts on the Deepbeats aren’t appropriate.

Unidisc have just issued Classic Redd digitally meaning her 1985 tracks finally get a proper release from master tape. It includes some unreleased mixes, including a 12” of Undercover Girl.

Would love to see the correct U. K. single versions of Sharon Redd's Can You Handle It and Never Give You Up released on cd one day

I would buy a 2-CD of Robbie's debut with all the b-sides rounded up. I have so many of his CD Singles I've collected over the years for the many b-sides (@Eric Generic is right to be fair, they are always dirt cheap) but I would love to be able to ditch them for the simplicity of a compilation. His b-sides were pretty excellent right through the Rudebox era.

Not sure I want to spend that much for 4-CD's when I'll never use the 3rd and 4th.

Yes, a 2 disc version on it's own also would have been better also.
