Are they remastered? My Runaway Horses reissue has horribly clipped/distorted “Hey hey hey heys” at the beginning of (We Want) The Same Thing.

Given the original purpose of the site was to publish details of SDEs, why has he not given oxygen to the Cherry Red reissues of Climie Fisher and Cutting Crew? The fact SDE has mentioned The Dream Academy one, probably means neither are to his taste but I'd be surprised if the pro Hoffman mob stuff he pushes is either. He must be getting anti-pop in his old age...

I used to be a big Macca fan but I think I've been turned off him in the last few years. I think you can listen too much to your favourite artists. Dug out the first four Crowded House albums this week after years of neglect. Fantastic stuff.
To be (slightly) fair on SDE, they've featured Girls Aloud, PSB, Electribe 101, Go West, Kylie and Air lately. But there is far too much of the hoary 70s (prog) rock and Steven Wilson-related stuff which I presume brings most of the traffic (and money) to the site.
It's the bullying and underlying homophobic comments on his Facebook page whenever he mentions pop releases that is worrying. It's rather toxic.
I only see the main site and sometimes Twitter posts. But even then, any time "pop" music is covered the same old crap starts up.
Yeah, I get he can't monitor his Facebook site like his own website but he should ban repeat offenders who just post constantly rude and nasty.
Yes, the Girls Aloud reissue was highlighted on the day of announcement and every comment was 'this is worthless, why are you mentioning it'. He took it down and replaced it with the page currently still up. Why he didn't just not approve the misogynist comments earlier, heaven only knows.

All the work Vinnie originally put into trying to get those reissues for them to do it themselves, missing lots of rare stuff they could have added.
Ah I didn't know Mr V did a version. Shame, he's normally very good at getting stuff out the weeds. My guess is it didn't sell well anyway.
It was many years ago, I think it stuck around in development hell. He worked for Go West so was also in a good position but the label chose to do it themselves.
If the label have to resort to vinyl rips for a US 7" inch single, you know there's a problem and corners have probably been cut. And for god's sake, issue it in the same design format as the debut.
I assume he didn't get free copies so he's not talking about them.
I don't visit that site anymore. It's toxic. The Second Disc is much better. And, of course, the Reissue Thread.
The Hoffman site has its issues but there are some great threads on there where you can get away from the noise. To be honest, any Beatles thread I skip.
I pre-ordered this so long ago it's just reassuring to see that it actually exists.
