Chris Lowe's mix of "Music for Boys" comes to mind, also the Shep Pettibone dub of "Love comes quickly". There was also a 12" DJ promo pack of club mixes for "Introspective" with some tracks I think are still vinyl only.
It gets worse. Those extra tracks mentioned in the July Superdeluxeedition update (the main one of interest being the Phil Harding promo only remix of "Radio Musicola") will not be on the box set, according to further email communication I've had with Cherry Red. What an almighty shit show.Wait, what?!
Paul of SDE has just said they are definitely on there, so not sure what's going on.It gets worse. Even Cherry Red's emails have errors.Paul of SDE has just said they are definitely on there, so not sure what's going on.
I was quite amused by his recent posts on his SDE site about a US visit. He went to town on grumbles that would be comparatively minor to anyone else, devoting whole paragraphs to the headphones and WIFI on the plane over. Bet he goes apeshit when his missus leaves the toilet seat up.This is why I don't visit his site anymore. I find it... stressful. Anxious. It has absolutely nothing to do with enjoying music which is why I visited it in the first place. It started off fine but then when it became more about Paul's business and then his responses to posters, mocking Dannii Minogue and just being rather hostile and defensive, I stopped visiting. Kudos to him though for some of his great work - the Paul Young set, the Tears for Fears sets, and getting the WHAM! Blu rays is a huge score.
All the homophobia, misogyny and defensiveness just make me avoid the site. The Hoffman board has its issues but I find there are enough posters to call out homophobia and misogyny and try to make it more of a safe space.

Paul on SDE confirmed the bonus tracks are being added, the information was false. That's very disappointing. If nothing new was added, what was the reason for the delay (must be seven months or so)?
Completely agree, the name gives it away. It's just an unreleased remix, I doubt if it was ever actually called that.So the new track listing for the Nik box is now up on the Cherry Red site - it includes the 4 tracks mentioned back in July plus Radio Musicola (Acetate Floor Remix). That track has been circulating as a 192kbps MP3 for some time as Radio Musicola (Acetate Room Remix) - I'm inclined to think that the MP3 will be the source for the box and not a lossless file from Universal's library, though I'd love to be proved wrong.
A fan named Mark sent them cleaned up copies of the Nobody Knows Harding mix and this RM mix. It may be possible they will use that, though he said he got no thanks from them. If they sound good, I am ok with vinyl rips. Nik did say he found sound mixes so I am hoping he provided cleaner copies. So the new track listing for the Nik box is now up on the Cherry Red site - it includes the 4 tracks mentioned back in July plus Radio Musicola (Acetate Floor Remix). I’m betting the RM edit will be that collected one and not the original 7”Which means it'll probably be the 192 kbps MP3...
We're also missing the "Human Racing" version of "Wide Boy" (it was on the tapes that were transferred for the deluxe Human Racing so would be in Universal's library) and the alternate mix of "Radio Musicola" that was on the vinyl only "Collected" release from last year.
Great run of luck!Wanted to buy the triple vinyl reissue of The Lilac Time's Astronauts since it was announced months ago. Today is the release day. The Bandcamp site is charging £88 (€105) and wouldn't deduct the UK VAT even though I'm in Ireland. They shouldn't be charging VAT on exports. So if I ordered it, An Post (Irish equivalent of Royal Mail) would charge me 23% VAT - i.e €24 plus a handling fee of €5. A total of €134 which is pretty steep. It's limited to 1,000 copies worldwide so I left it in my basket and said to myself - "I'll think about it." I had already ordered the 3CD from Amazon.
At 2.00pm, I got an email from State Savings saying I won €75 in the weekly Prize Bonds draw (Irish equivalent of Premium bonds).
At 2.10pm, I got a Facebook message from a friend who said he was in Spindizzy Records in Dublin and they had the triple vinyl Astronauts for €76.99. "I think they do free postage to Ireland if it's over €75".
Ordered placed on Spindizzy website within seconds. Net cost of €1.99 - Sorted!
I think some of these might be vinyl onlyQuick question
Is there any 1986-1995 Pet Shop Boys material that is still vinyl only?
