The Reissue Thread!

The only thing I really need from Sam (besides the new album) is the Angel With An Attitude CD. Somehow I never managed to get a copy of that.

Blimey.. That was worth waiting for and thank you @Anjoel40 for anything you had to do with it. 51 bonus tracks including 6 unreleased tracks (not demos), Mental Block full length, more PWL extendeds and dubs than you could shake a stick at. Just brilliant for one of the best pop albums of the latter 80s.

Can anyone clarify where all the single mixes and edits of Rise To The Occasion were originally released?
I'm struggling to put actual single releases from the time to all the versions listed.

Lack of timings on many of the original listings makes it harder to know what was what.

I have the original UK 4 track CD single which I think is a remix of the album version.
I also have the 3 track 7" maxi-single, which has 4.22 on the label for the a-side, but it's actually 4.42.
Plus I have the 4.14 Hip Hop Remix on several CDs.

I see there's a 3.57 US 45 edit which accounts for one of the versions on the new box set, but there are a few more than these account for. One is marked as unavailable on CD, another previously unreleased.

Anyone else think that This Is Me and I Won't Bleed For You were better than their two actual hits (which I'm not fussed to ever hear again whereas I could happily revisit these two).

I loved all the singles from the debut, but yes I agree those were the best. This Is Me is an all-time favourite of mine. Fair enough it struggled on original release in 1986, but to then only make #22 in '88 was a surprise.

I bought their singles from the beginning in late 86 with the original This Is Me issue, which was a 9 minute 12" version but whether it's the Extended Version or the 12" Version, who knows. Note the This Is It PWL mix has never been in full length on cd, the Jap 'Keep It Special' CD was mislabelled and the version included was the 1986 one.

Love Changes and This Is Me for me, I didn't think Bleed was a good single choice, I would've gone with Room To Move or Break The Silence.

The UK 3 track maxi single (EMS 33) has the original ballad version (not remixed) on the a-side. Despite a label time of 4.22, it's actually 4.42. Hip Hop Remix is track 1 on the b-side (4.14).

My UK CD single has the ballad remix as track 1, which possibly matches the a-side of the first UK 45 (EM 33), but I don't have this to verify.

The 3rd UK 45 (EMX 33) has the Hip Hop Remix as the a-side. Again I don't have this to verify.

Can anyone verify which versions are on EM 33 and EM 33X.
I am particularly interested in whether the Hip Hop Remix on EMX 33 and EMS 33 are the same mix, and the one commonly found on CD?

I have a huge soft spot for Room To Move, which eventually became a U.S. top 10 for the “new” Animotion thanks to its inclusion in My Stepmother Is An Alien, featuring none other than then-Mrs. Richard Marx, Cynthia Rhodes.
