Nice tracklist. Have ordered.
Reminds me of the 3CD Buried Treasure series which also had sets for 1980s, 1990s and two for the 1970s.

The Climie Fisher Everything reissue is out today. Does anyone know what the key PWL remixes are? At 5 CDs and 51 bonus tracks this is quite an intimidating release!
All the 'mixes' of Rise To The Occasion (not Ballad version), House mix/dub of Love Changes, This is it mix/dubs of This Is Me. 12 mixes in all, many unreleased or on promo only. My booklet is fine, sorry to hear yours isn't but I guess one being right, might mean it's replaceable.

Bar some silly spelling mistakes in the booklet, it looks great on first pass. Vinny may have surpassed himself!

Has it been stated that Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms is getting a 40th anniversary release? Sadly no outtakes or demos, but two live discs plus original album. I believe there will be a limited edition Blu Ray release too.

Correct!

SDE are handling the exclusive Blu-Ray audio format, Universal or EMI or whoever's left of the majors, is doing the other formats (vinyl, 3CD etc).

The featured live show has apparently been chosen for better sound than their intended choice(s). Those didn't come up to scratch. Pity the edits and alternate mixes of Brothers In Arms tracks didn't get included. Paul at SDE has at least ensured there are a few different versions of the album on the Blu-ray. The original vinyl configuration (which had edited songs on side A) and an instrumental mix.

I suspect Mark Knopfler won't ever be interested in delving into the DS archives. These anniversary releases are all done by the label, and with SDE's input for the Blu-Ray. He never seemed very happy or comfortable with DS by the end of the 80s, and doesn't seem to have any desire to revisit the band's work.

I know it’s overrated but “Money For Nothing” is a fantastic song and, dare I say, one of the best “character” songs that have ever been released as a single. I’ll have to give the album a proper listen.
