The Reissue Thread!

Interestingly (for me) I learnt today that there are three different versions of Climie Fisher's excellent B side of Rise To The Occasion, 'Mental Block';

7" B side at 3.50
12" B side at 4.50
2025 boxset Full Length Version at 6.59

Only two of them are on the boxset... The missing 7" version is on a couple of German EMI CF comps from the early 90s, Twice As Much and Premium Gold for completists.

'Brothers In Arms' is the only Dire Straits album I know. I bought the cassette on a school trip to Brighton. I listened on the coach on the way home and loved it. My favourites were always 'Your Latest Trick' and 'Brothers In Arms', probably because I had heard 'Money For Nothing' & 'Walk Of Life' loads before.
Love Over Gold and Making Movies are better IMHO, worth checking out if you ever get in a DS mood.

I'm puzzled by the version of Rise To The Occasion on CD2 (track 2) described as 7" version.
Time listed on Discogs as 4.22.

That's the same timing that appears on the label of the 3 track single with catalogue number EMS 33.
But my copy of that 45 is the full length version. Not sure if it's the original LP version or the Phil Harding remix from the CD single.

Amazon's "Spring Deal" offers include a couple of fairly recent boxsets

Red Box (1980-1990)
Bronski Beat - Age Of Consent

Still not tempted enough by the Bronski as I have so many versions (including the SDE blu ray), but £18 for Red Box seems decent!

Wonder if there's any chance that Ride On Time will be the correct Loleatta Holloway 7" version...
